I like this pick up. Wish we could have locked him into a longer contract. Just hard to develop a guy on a 1 year deal when there's no guarantee he sticks around.

I wasn't too worried until we picked up Boozer. Davis wants/needs minutes, and Booz is obviously going to cut into them.

I've been following Davis closely for the past 3 years (fantasy basketball, lol), so I know the kind of numbers he's capable of putting up. I seriously hope we lock him up long term after this season. He'll bounce if he ends up buried in the depth chart again though.

Ed Davis fun fact: His father Terry Davis played 10 years in the NBA. LAL now has 3 players w/ dads who played pro sports (Kobe, Sacre)

Is he a legit 6'10"? I've seen a couple pics online and it looks like Kupchak is towering over him.

Davis starting at C may be our best option. I'm all for athletic running bigs. Hill/Boozer as the backups

Ed Davis = a nobody. Surprising to see how much the fans have lowered their standards. I agree we gotta stay upbeat during this time, but let's not make something out of nothing! We needed another big man, and just as has been par for the course with the Lakers lately, we took the only thing that was left!!!

Nobody's saying he's going to be a superstar. He just fills a need nicely, and still has room to grow.

I think the only reason Davis would accept such little pay this year was that it was a short contract. If he plays well this year he is in line for a big pay raise next year rather than being stuck in a low paying contract for multiple years.
