Reports: Boston Celtics finalizing deal for Evan Turner
Some team was going to give Evan Turner another shot, and some fan base was going to ask “why?”

Boston Celtics fans, you are on the clock. And it’s a fair question to ask.

Turner and the Celtics are nearing a deal, something first reported by Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald.

Jeff Zillgett of the USA Today confirms it.

Turner put up raw numbers in the up-tempo offense in Philly to start last season — someone had to take the shots and Turner did, putting up 17.4 a game, but not efficiently (.504 true shooting percentage). His stock plummeted after how he played in Indiana — when asked to blend into the Pacers team concept he could not. By the meaningful parts of the playoffs he was barely getting minutes for an Indy team struggling to find any offense it could. Not a good sign.

Now he will try to find minutes behind Avery Bradley and Jeff Green (and Marcus Thornton and Gerald Wallace and maybe James Young). Brad Stevens will get a chance to develop him, but Celtics fans are smart enough to know better than to expect much but a body on the roster here
.

He's skilled but has poor awareness of how to adapt his game to the NBA. He isn't an efficient scorer and isn't a distributor, and yet he needs the ball in his hands.
