With the off season FA period winding down... and hindsight to your advantage... what would you have liked the Lakers to do?
Seeing we now know the big "two" wouldn't come...
Moves I like from the Lakers...
Ed Davis
Boozer
Lin
I didn't know pre-offseason taking on Lin would net a first... a wonderful risk reward situation.
Ed and Boozer were two bigmen targets I had posted about.
Now as for the remaining cap... basically Hill's 9mil and Nick Young's deal....
I would have spent that on Monroe. I still think Monroe would thrive at center in this league... and I like the idea of a Monroe/Randle duo. (Maybe parlay the pick from the Lin deal into making a sign and trade official where the Lakers wouldn't have to worry about DTown matching (which I don't know if they would at that number anyways).
That would have left the Lakers without Nick Young... but missing Hill is really no biggy with gaining Monroe.
If I were the Lakers I would have also tried to keep marshall. Because Lin can play the SG role in my book. He is a scorer. So keeping Marshall would help cover the loss of Nick Young.
Also pick up one more SG/SF minimum trying to revive his career type (something they still need to do).
What's your hindsight team? |

No hind sight only foresight..
And I foresee this Team winning about the same as last year, a healthy Kobe may add another 6 wins, a healthy Nash another 2 wins, a injured Kobe and Nash = about 25 wins...
nothing to get too excited about... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

There is a salary cap. What you want there... couldn't work. |

I wish we could have made a trade with Chicago for Boozer and their two #1 draft picks. We could have ended up with Randle, Ennis and Hood. Nice start to a rebuild. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Wish we traded for Lin and Asik, even without a pick coming back to us. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Somehow I knew this would end up in here.
Given hindsight and what happened with the last couple of seasons, I begrudgingly agree. Even with the nasty Scola contract. |
