Kobe bought the house in 1997 for 1.7 million and is asking over 8 million.
Guess the upgrades on the house were pretty significant.

I'm guessing the real estate market in 2014 has more to do with it than any upgrades.

Chris Bosh's home that is on the market makes Kobe's home look like child's play.

It's the land that appreciates more than the house itself.

I'm sure having Kobe's name attached to the house raises it as well?
Imagine the deals celebrities could cut with realtors. _________________ Lakers. Built different.

that's not that huge of a price cut. Being a realtor I can tell you what happened they probably had the realtor tell them what they want to hear or let the Kobe dictate the price. The price of real estate is all about comparable sales. Unless someone is buying all cash you cant sell a house for more than its worth because a star lived there because there will be an appraisal to deal with. Most people wont pay more then appraised value because they don't have the extra cash to pay it. Now in Chinese markets those rules go out the window because they usually buy all cash. but if it is not all cash then the comparable sales drive the price
