So hope this is true. |
This would be good for him, and good for Real. Hopefully, it'd also mean Benzema gets sold to Arsenal so Wenger can finally get him. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

Wonder if benzema will stay.
to be honest, he weathered a lot of storms in real.. didnt have a great first season, but he has made strides lately. |

He reportedly agreed on a contract extension, and he will receive a significant salary increase. So he'll most likely stay. He's also Zidane and Perez's favorite, so it's unlikely they'll sell him. Since Morata is gone to Juventus, Madrid can't go through the season with only one true striker. So even if they sold Benzema and then bought a striker (like Falcao), they'd have no depth at that position, and Cristiano and James won't be playing the "false 9" anytime soon.
So my guess is Benzema stays and Madrid does a late acquisition of Falcao. _________________ ¡Hala Madrid! |

Should bring back Fernando "EL MAGO" Morientes back to play the falso nueve |

It was nice to see MLS recover a little of its dignity, even against a second string Arsenal lineup.
However . . .
Where in the hell did Arsenal come up with that away kit? I am not exactly a fashionista, but that didn't look good. |

They've switched from Nike to Puma this year, so these are Puma's first kits for us. They don't look very nice though IMO, not a fan of them, but at least it's making more money for the club - 30m per year, practically bought us Alexis Sanches in the first year _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

What a terrible transfer by athletico.
Real Sociedad got such a good deal on that. Greizmann is a very good young player.. but in not worth 30mill in my opinion. jeez. |

Cost of doing business these days. He has world class potential, and that doesn't come cheap, especially considering he's only 23.
30m euros too, so only about 24m GBP, which is less than Liverpool paid for Adam Lallana, who isn't nearly as good and is already 26 years old. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

they could have probably gotten jackson martinez at 30mill (who i think is better).
I too think griezmann has potential, but i just dont see it as world class. Vela also created A LOT for him at sociedad.. Griezmann didnt look as good with france as he did with sociedad |

I find Jackson to be among the most overrated players out there. No way would I put up 30 for him, he's in his prime already and plays in a weak league.
With Griezmann, I don't think u could get a better player for less than what he went for. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

Landon Donovan IMO is still the best offensive player for the US....he helped the MLS all stars win the exhibition game up in Portland vs Bayern Munich, 2-1. |

It's nice that he cares about soccer this week.
Like JK, I don't have a lot of use for Donovan these days. |

Donovan was great.
Can't think of a better player that suited up for the stars and stripes than him. |

We will. We will only get better. I hate that we lost the bid to host the world cup in 2022 to Quatar.. |
It's debatable that Quatar will host it. FIFA may reverse that decision. In fact, it's quite probable. |

I would be shocked if FIFA backed down on Qatar. Too much money has been . . . invested. |

Only way that FIFA backs down from qatar is if visa, budweiser, mcdonalds, adidas, and all the huge sponsors put their footdown.
But you gotta keep in mind mastercard, corona (or insert other huge beer name here), burger king, and nike could easily replace them.
It's not easy to lose a world cup host.. there is a reason it has not happened very much. I think qatar is a go; the dates are actually more likely to change than the host.
BUT in the rare case that it WERE to happen, USA and England could host it in the drop of a dime. |
