Upland is a few city blocks from Whittier. Dat's the classy section of the SGV.

You know I ALWAYS mean to when I trip back to Cali, but I never seem to have enough time. I need to make a trip back on my own (without my awesome young adult offspring) and experience thuglife for realz.

I feel that it's unfair that you would deny your offspring the opportunity to see if they bout that life. Like my grandma always said, if you get them thuggin young, then they can thug stronger.

So there was a thunderstorm coming. Sky getting dark with clouds. Lovely thing as we have had no rain for quite some time. I went to collect the things from my garden, close the windows, stuff like that. I was just behind the barn when the first lightning struck. And with a thunder simultaneously. Right behind my house. Boom. And into my legs. Up to the knees I felt it. Electric strike. I think I was not that scared even when I crashed off the road once. The knee hurt for another half an hour.

To get struck with lightning - check.

What should I do next?

Thanks for the palindrome. I'm doing my catch up.

But lotteries are boring. I'm too good at it. The other day I had to draw dice in the shop and got 14 out of 18. And once I got granted a large box of icecream. Come think of it, the latter is not really a reward, is it. Lucky for me I have a large chest freezer...

After about a year of looking I may have found her.

It has been a while and I have gone through some pain, even with people who know me trying to set me up, but this may be the one.

I've had a few before. One was a guy who just got me. The conversation flowed and everything was perfect. Then he was gone.

Found a good girl a few years ago. It was a pleasure. We established a rhythm and it was just so comfortable.

then she was gone. Wish I knew what to say to keep her around, but I knew it just wasn't possible.

Yesterday, things changed. She was new to me. She was sullen. She didn't talk much. She really didn't seem to give a (bleep) about me, but she was good. Maybe even better than those who I had before.

Yeah. I might have found a new regular barber.

Unusual.

I tend to avoid items that don't fit in with the main cuisine of a dining establishment.

The only exception is the raw oysters at Hooters.

There was this rather rotund woman that I used to go to in Pasadena. She had a beautiful face. Whenever I left, I felt like she had made love to my skull with her soft hands. It was a religious experience. I miss her.
