Despite his propensity to disappear at times I like what he provides: athleticism, youth, can defend, and cheap. He's not a bad player, just a very good complementary piece. Expectations were too high because he was drafted to high. |

Hasnt been able to run a pro offense in his several years in the league. Has the talent of athleticism and quickness, but little to no skill. Hopefully he works hard and surprises. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

Hope he can play effectively much more consistently this season, and I hope that playing with better teammates (well Kobe and Lin and maybe Boozer plus the miracle hope of Nash playing) will help him (and X, and Kelly, and Nick) to actually be more consistent. With no one but pau really a vet last year, these guys never got to really fill a proper role. Wes might do better knowing his more welldefined role. |

I don't see what is wrong with this signing. It's really cheap and he can play some D. Not bad imo. |

Remember when MDA had Wes playing the 4!
He's a 3 if he had better handles maybe a 2, never a 4. But he's a good defender;
he made it back to the Lakers by the skin of his teeth.
Hopefully he can make the most out of what may be his last shot at being on an NBA roster. |

Earlier in the year when he was playing him at the 3, he was playing at a pace that would have priced him out of a vet min contract. I guess MDA messing with him was a blessing in disguise. I think teams know he is a SF, but I'm happy he's back. All they need him to do is run the floor, guard the best swingman and hit a 3 once in a while. Not having handles doesn't mean much when the 1,2 and 4 positions will get the bulk of the shots. |

This is what I was hoping to hear. I absolutely believe Kobe would have had a significant impact on Wesley. Wesley is a nice guy/passive player type. Kobe will help keep the fires burning a bit longer & intense.
Byron Scott in his text from Kobe after being hired:
"He told me he was working out with Wesley [Johnson] and Nick [Young]," Scott said. "I told them that sounded great, but they 'better be ready to play some defense.'"

Got one! got one! got one! and another one on the floor with Kobe coming back. Those two might keep the fire burning more intensely. I like Wesley on this team for a mil and his skill set. |

Quote: | EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent forward Wesley Johnson, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.
“I’m happy to welcome Wesley back to our team and am excited to see him develop further after taking such great strides last season,” said Kupchak. “Wesley possesses elite athleticism, and has the potential to develop into an excellent defender.” |

WeJo is a very good defender and he is young and quick. He should improve with a defined role and a defined system and no more playing power forward. Damn I am glad that Antoni is gone. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |
