Looks like you're on the same page as the Lakers with Randle seeing some SF time. Their depth chart looks like:

Here's what they have them penciled in at:

Lin, Nash, Clarkson
Kobe, Henry
Swaggy, Johnson, Randle
Boozer, Kelly, Davis, Randle
Hill, Sacre

I would be surprised if they started Young just because of the defensive matchups.

I think Johnson is more likely to start at SF with Kobe and probably Nash starting in the backcourt.

Starters: Hill 30, Boozer 28, Johnson 14, Kobe 32, Nash 16

Bench: Davis 18 , Randle 20, Henry 14, Kelly 8, Young 28, Lin 32

Deep Bench: Clarkson, Sacre

I know that's what it says on the board but I think we're missing some kind of nuance with the way they've written things because there's no way Randle is behind Kelly and Davis at the 4. I think they've color coded the board as well, with red text suggesting Henry and Johnson can play both 2 and 3, and the green text suggesting Clarkson can play 1 and 2.

The reason Kelly is the odd man out is because Scott said you have to play defense if you're going to play for him. Kelly can't push anyone out of the paint that weighs more than 80 lbs. Boozer, Randle, Hill and Davis is sufficient to split 96 minutes.

You do realize that nobody can play defense on this team?

Defense is about effort and wanting to play defense, Kelly always gives effort and will be suprised when he is asked to play defense how well he will do, he even stepped up last year to try to guard LeBron I think he is a great team player and will do whatever it takes to win and help the team

My prediction is that Wes will eventually fall out favor and Randle with take all his minutes at the 3. I'm encouraged to see that at least they value Kelly more than Ed Freakin' Davis.

The whole summer league looked like an audition for Randle at the 3 so that's not surprising. My guess on the color coding is that Henry and Johnson are battling for the same minutes.

Davis, Hill, Johnson, Henry are above average defenders. Lin, Randle, Clarkson, young, Kobe and Boozer should all be able to rotate and cover areas with a defensive scheme. I'm looking forward to this season. Much more than the last 2 years

That is what I am hoping for...some type of defensive coaching, effort and cohesion.

Without that, you have no chance and I am back to the Tank Thread.
