It would be nice if they were able to sign him to a Houston style deal. Keeping him on a cheap contract for 2-3 years would be ideal.

Yes, those are the type of deals we need to start doing.

And not on the Bob Sacre's of the world.

Nothing new really. He's expected to be signed but there's no rush. We have his right so we'll probably wait till training camp. You never know what can happen in terms of injury or personal stuff.

Get this guy and sign him too a decent contract more than 2 years imho. This guy is talented with Kobe as his mentor he could turn out to be very good. Looking at the future I wouldnt mind having a core of Clarkson,Randle,Westbrooke,DJ/Marc Gasol. If only he can grow up to his full potential.

Can't sign him for more than two years unfortunately.

That's not true, they can sign him for 3 years if them want.

We can't. We only have the minimum to sign him and minimum deals are 2 years at most whether you're a rookie or an 18 year vet.

did they not draft him though? Can't they exceed the cap on that basis alone? Not that they'd have to do that for Jordan Clarkson at this point in his career.. lol

Hope Clarkson beats out Steve Nash in our rotation this year.
If Scott cares about defense like he says he does, my wish should come true. I like Clarkson's athleticism and size at the point guard position. I could see him being an impact player and a better than average backup point guard. Even if he makes some mistakes early on in the season, I think he can outperform expectations if given ample playing time.

Nahh we can't. We just have his rights. If he were a 1st rounder he would have had a cap hold and then we could have done that but not a second rounder.

Clarkson gives the Lakers a young, athletic guard who can create off the dribble, and has the potential to be a lockdown defender.

The team simply doesn’t have many players who can do those things.
