@Chicago? Seems like a wasted opportunity to have Gasol's return to LA on Christmas. Boozer's homecoming isn't as big

the main plot is obviously Gasol and Boozer facing their former team......the sub-plot is Rose & Kobe's potential return to elite status from prolonged time off.

Will probably be an ESPN game at night. They already said the 2 premier games are going to be Miami vs Cleveland and Clippers vs Golden State.

It's not a good matchup for the Lakers. Bulls are the best defensive team in the league and they have Butler who will make it tough on Kobe.

False !

We got revenge on Boston in 2009 on Christmas day.

We killed the Suns I think in 2010 Christmas day also.

yes but those were at home. Eddie said on the road.

Phew! Second guessed myself for a second there!

There's nothing premier about Goldenstate vs the clips.

PrairieAve I had to find out!

3 Michael Jordan 32,292
4 KOBE BRYANT 31,700

Kobe needs 593 to pass MJ & the X-mas game was the 30th of the season last year.
So 593/29 = 20.4483
Kobe needs to avg just under 20.5 pts a game to be in a position to do it in Chicago. Doesn't seem too farfetched, and makes for a great storyline.

I think Kobe will have passed Michael a few games prior, though.

I would rather they just get rid of Christmas Day games, I rarely watch them.

I like the Xmas day games when the Lakers are an elite team and they're in the main match up . I also preferred the time when we had less xmas games, I don't like the whole bball marathon on xmas.

Yeah, I have more important things to do that day than to watch basketball.

I've never watched the Christmas Day games. The holiday scheduling is a rather pure form of marketing decisions, for the league's "best interest."

Looks like they've picked two teams that await the return from injury of their best recent players (Bryant, Rose), which also essentially swapped their bigs who's no longer representing the best possible future. That's marketing for you.

ESPN needs to keep the insults coming towards the Lakers.
12th seed in the West.
Were old as dirt.
Kobe and Nash are fossils and done.
Linsanity is over.
Boozer is done.
Byron can't coach.

Keep them coming please!!!!!

We need to get these guys fueled up as much as possible!

This Squad is gonna shock the basketball world believe that!!!

Good, let them make us underdogs. Makes for a good story when we rise up.

Not my decision but thats what I read on ESPN. Apparently they are going to put the 2 teams that are likely to have a rivalry on network.

A first time regular season matchup with the Lakers and Rockets would've made for a better story on Christmas Day.
