Some of the young girls nowadays dress like strippers. There should be dress codes. Also newsflash, there are dress codes in most places you will work. _________________ The journey to 17 begins...
I really don't care how anyone dresses. As long as guys keep their shirts on.
I realize your point that young girls are dressing like strippers, but imo that is something that their parents should handle, not the schools _________________ Kobe

Sure it is mainly the parents that should take care of this. Reality is, in todays world parents go to work and the whole school system has to take care of most of the parenting. Teachers aren't trained in that, most of them aren't even aware that they have to be substitute parents. Most people still think school is were you learn things that you can look up with two clicks nowadays... Schools should be about learning life. And this means actually how to clean your laundry, cook meals, behave and dress.
Or we need traditional families were at least one parent is home all the time. But that is a fairly big change in society.

And if the parents don't, the school should send them home. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel

Where did you get that bizarre notion? The job of schools is to educate, not be surrogate parents. The job of educating is huge enough. Choosing to be a parent means you have taken on a much tougher role. Lazily passing of parenting roles for one's kids on to the teacher's is disgusting.

It's not a question of a lack of awareness on the teacher's part. No parent should be making the assumption that the rest of the world is going to be raising their child for them - much less teachers, who already have the job of educating.

Please tell us that you are not a parent and have no intention of becoming one.
I remember when we would get early days because it was too hot. Every year in elementary school we had to do fundraisers to get air conditioning, the year after I left the school got AC

Some parents don't handle squat. The way some girls come to school, it's like holy crap. If you don't think this is a problem, then you must be a high school male. lmao.
Is it just me, or did the girl in the photo look like she was dressed pretty stupid/uncoordinated/unfashionable/ugly?
If you're going to rebel against a dress code, then at least try to look good doing it. She looked like she was dressed like a clown.
She looks like an action figure. Why action figure? Because I can't understand how dis-proportioned or weird her figure turned out in that pic. I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't a camera perspective issue.

I never once had an air conditioned school room.

I grew up on the east coast and remember wearing jackets in class because we didnt have enough heat, damn babies of this generation, driving home from work I pass a HS everyday and dont know whether the girls are working or coming from class.
It is crazy how parents let their kids dress and it starts in elementary school you need a license to have a dog you should need a license to have a kid

Saw a bit on this school in Texas that blew up in 1937 because they used cheap natural gas coming as a waste product from a nearby refinery, but the existing pipes at the school weren't sturdy enough to withstand the pressure and a leak eventually formed. Gas built up over a period of days in a large crawlspace with no ventilation that spanned the entire structure and the gas found a spark when a shop teacher turned on a belt sander at the end of the day. Death toll was upwards of 300. One of the world leaders who sent a telegram expressing sorrow for the tragedy was Herr Hitler himself. Walter Kronkite covered it as a young reporter and he said the sights of the aftermath scarred him emotionally for years. This incident spurred on the inclusion of the now-universal odor in natural gas.
I remember living in Maine for a short time. I can honestly tell my son that I had to walk 1.5 miles to school each way in a blizzard more than a few times. I remember once I forgot my beanie and when I got home I had a helmet made of ice.
The snow melted a bit in my hair and then froze again. It was pretty thick too. Fully formed.
