Now there is a life that could've turned out a lot different if he wasn't drafted into the NFL....he could've had a similar career path to Kurt Warner's pre-NFL career.

Not that it makes much of a difference either way Bears look smart now sticking with Cutler.

Quote:
Josh McCown expected to miss several games with thumb injury

A bad start to the season for Buccaneers quarterback Josh McCown is getting worse.

The thumb injury McCown suffered in Thursday night’s loss in Atlanta is likely to force McCown to miss “several weeks,” a source told Alex Marvez of FOX Sports.

That would mean Mike Glennon, the 2013 third-round pick who became the starter during his rookie year, will start. Glennon showed some promise during his rookie season, but the new regime in Tampa obviously didn’t think he was ready to start, because the Bucs gave McCown a two-year, $10 million contract this offseason to become the starter.

Unfortunately, McCown hasn’t done much with the starting job: After throwing just one interception in 224 passes last season, McCown has thrown four interceptions in just 68 passes this season. Although Bucs coach Lovie Smith has insisted that McCown is the starter when healthy, Glennon will get an opportunity to show he deserves to keep the starting job

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24716792/cardinals-qb-carson-palmer-out-drew-stanton-will-start-vs-49ers

Quote:

For the second straight week, the Arizona Cardinals aren't going to have starting quarterback Carson Palmer. Coach Bruce Arians announced on Friday that Drew Stanton will be the team's starter against the 49ers on Sunday in Arizona.

"We'll put that to bed right now," Arians said. "Nobody is in the dark about who's going to be the starting quarterback."

Palmer, who's dealing with a nerve injury in his right shoulder, said earlier this week that he literally has no idea when he might return.

"They said my shoulder was stretched out and I landed on the nerve, shut the nerve down," Palmer said "It's just one of those things you've just go to wait and hope it wakes up. There's no, 'It needs 48 hours. It needs six days, it needs 12 days.' You just don't know."

The 34-year-old was injured in Arizona's Week 1 win over San Diego. If Palmer's capable of throwing the ball on Sunday, then he'll be Stanton's backup. If Palmer can't throw though, then rookie Logan Thomas will serve as the team's No. 2 quarterback.

Right now, it's looking like Thomas will be the backup.

"He cannot throw," Arians said of Palmer. "He's improved dramatically but he still can't throw."

Stanton will be making the sixth start of his seven-year career. The 30-year-old is 3-2 as a starter, a record that includes Arizona's 25-14 win over the Giants in Week 2. In that game, his first start since 2010, Stanton threw for 167 yards and didn't turn the ball over.

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported earlier this week, that the Cardinals have no plans of adding another quarterback, despite the continuing uncertainty surrounding Palmer's health.

Chargers lose Melvin Ingram for at least eight weeks

The injury woes that have plagued Melvin Ingram continue.

Ingram, the outside linebacker who was the Chargers’ first-round draft pick in 2012, has been placed on injured reserve with the return designation. That means he’ll miss at least the next eight weeks.

Ingram had started the first two games of this season but suffered a hip injury last week against the Seahawks. Ingram missed 12 games last year with a torn ACL.

The Chargers haven’t announced a corresponding move to fill Ingram’s spot on the 53-player roster.

I'm not a Raider fan, but that was some BS. "Tuck Rule" ? LOL

And Brady is rubbing it in their faces. First passing play of the game he needs to get pancaked.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that one of the central arguments that Rice will make is that the NFL handed down additional punishment based on an edited video of what happened in the elevator rather than on the complete tape of what happened in Atlantic City that night. PFT has confirmed that this is a major part of Rice’s strategy and the Associated Press has previously reported about the existence of a longer video from the elevator.

Another good win for the Chargers. They have a pretty soft schedule for the next 4 weeks. Hopefully they can capitalize.

Denver fumbled on the first play from scrimage. Start just like SB XLVIII. Only cost them 3 this time, so far. I hope Peyton goes after Simmons.

Rusell Wilson is underrated as a pocket passer.

The Richard Sherman affect. Denver can't kill nothing and won't nothing die.
