I liked the expert commentary from the owner of a diamond seller.

Quote:
“Any single stone over $100,000 is an expensive stone,” House of Diamonds owner Brent Taubman said when asked about pricey diamonds.

Thanks! We wouldn't have known that!

Why would anyone ship a stone with that value via UPS?

To be fair, diamonds aren't the kind of rock you can smoke.

That's was probably the dumbest move in this whole story. I didn't even know UPS would insure something for that much. The kid probably knew the thing was insured for a high dollar value, but I don't know why he would assume it was that much in cash.

What's most amazing is how many people have been duped into believing a shiny rock should cost as much as they do. It's a rock FFS. For $160,000 that rock better make satellite phone calls, blend me a drink, forecast stocks, and play 3d hologram movies.
