I remember there being people who thought a package of Shawn Marion, Barbosa and picks would have been a good haul for Kobe when he was demanding a trade. Thank God that never happened.

He was benefited a lot by the Suns roster and system, and a lot of his game was based on elite speed and quickness, that means a shorter shelf-life.

And probably a 10 yr NBA career. Better than most, but it does seem awfully young to see such decline in your chosen career. But man, that guy was fun to watch in his prime when unleashed in Dantony's system. Except when he played us of course.

He was a system player. In a wide open offense, he could use his quickness to get easy hoops and was given a lot of outside shots even though he is only an average shooter. He has never played well outside of that system because he has a very limited skill set, and isn't even elite at any of the things he does well.
