^ Certainly. Personal brand > team loyalty, particularly in this day and age where the owners have repeatedly screwed the players (2011 lockout for example, or for Durant, trading away Harden).

That's how it should be IMO, because in most cases teams aren't loyal.

Of course but as I said before which you apparently refuse to listen to is spare me the BS narrative about coming home.

Would he have come home if the Heat 3 peated and had a shot at a 4th title?

No so home must not really not matter to him as much as he claims.

Coming home is a part of the narrative. He has always stated that it was hard to leave Cleveland and he wanted to come back eventually. Now was a good time to go back. If Miami had a shot to 4-peat then he still would have had a chance to chase history and come home eventually.

Yeah when he was washed up and had no title hopes to contribute to the city anymore after he won his titles elsewhere yeah what fan wants a washed up superstar on the downside of his career.

However this past season he saw the future for Miami with a broken down Wade and an aging Bosh. Then he sees Cleveland with those #1 draft picks and Kyrie Irving to boot and he knows that the young guys will keep him fresh and give him a better shot to win a title.

If he loved Cleveland to begin with he wouldn't have left to begin with. He did and then he came back because their future looks better than Miami's

This guy acts as if Miami cost him a chance to win 4 in a row.

Wrong LeBron...it's not Miami's fault you had to rethink your plan.

It was the fact you couldn't deliver when it matters the most.

LeBron can go wherever he wants, but lets not attach some BS "feel good" narrative to it.

A player returning home is a feel good narrative. A player trying to win a title for a franchise that has never won one, in his hometown that hasn't sniffed success in forever is a feel good narrative.

Let's get one thing straight, Lebron is not going there for Cleveland, he's going there for Lebron. Make no mistake about it. He didn't give a bleep about Cleveland then, and he doesn't give a bleep about it now.

Everyone knows that.

Or at least, I am sure he has some feelings about Cleveland, but he never would have gone back if the team wasn't strong.

The "going home" storyline is just something fans and media can have some fun with it. But no one is fooled.

And honestly it doesn't bother anyone except the people who dislike Lebron and who are always looking for something to be bothered about regarding him. That's why it's a great storyline:

-- It lets the Miami fans off the hook for him leaving.
-- It makes Cleveland fans happy.
-- It gives people who dislike Lebron something to be ticked off about.

It works for everyone.
