Thanks dB, that was a joy to read. This must have taken you three or four hours to produce, or do you take notes during the game to keep from having to go back through footage?

I take notes during the game and can keep up with the speed most of the time. Occasionally, I'll have to pause and catch up if a play had multiple people involved that need credits. I try to proof what I have at halftime. Then proof again after I'm done. And then usually do most of the intro parts of each player writeup after the game is over. If everything goes well, I can finish an hour/hour and half after the game.

There have been seasons where I haven't missed a game, but that's become tough to pull off. Hopefully, I'll cover about 90% or more.

DB - wow! wonderful to read your recap.

This team has so many stories, and could not be more fun to watch! The great part is that the stories will only deepen as the season goes on.

I am so looking forward to seeing the story lines develop... So looking forward to seeing the chemistry develop further among the players.

With Kobe, Nash and Lin, playing with the amazing targets they have in Randle, Boozer, Davis, Johnson, Young etc.. With so many great secondary ball handlers.

With the emphasis on defense and conditioning. With Byron Scott looking calm and happy and in charge on the sidelines.

This is going to be a really fun ride.

First thank you!

I've never seen a re-cap like this on any fan forum I've ever visited

Can't wait to read your recap after the next game!

Seeing your recap lets me know it's finally basketball season.
I know it's a ton of work, but I hope you never stop doing these.

That hope is shared by many.

I still think about what if there was a book about the adventures of the four horsemen and the one and only DB.

Good damn leprechauns.

I don't think we could do a printed version of it. We looked at that and even did some layout on it to see how we could reasonably publish it, but if I recall it would be something like a 700-page book for the season. It was loooong.

It would take some editing, but I think it could be done in about two pages per game.

But it is still a work.

And time is the real non-renewable resource.

(From somebody who is just about to send another 350+ pages book to print - luckily not much editing work for me this time).

i caught some action toward the end of 2nd quarter. Nash seemed have fresh legs again, he was doing behind the back passes, pushing the ball, seemed a lot more active than previous 2 seasons.

Well. He kind of didn't really play much of the 2 seasons so he got an extended rest?

If it was the second quarter, that might have been Lin. I don't think Nash played then.

But, yes, Nash looked active and fresh.

Just joined LG just to say thank you DB! Mindblowingly awesome to have a writeup like this that is not only thoroughly complete but astonishingly accurate. Crushes the stuff you see on play by play on ESPN, NBA.com, etc.

Thanks for the honor of making your first post in this thread.

And thanks to everyone else, as well. Hopefully, this will be a much better season to cover. Last season became a drag as the injuries piled up and having to see the same problems over and over again.

You might as well keep writing thank yous DB because your going to get more people like me reading your summaries recently and feel obligated, like everyone else, to thank you for your work . Your summaries are more fun to read than the major newspapers. We appreciate it.

What my wife and I do is write everything in notepad or word processor of choice and save every few sentences. Then just copy/paste (Control-C and Control-V).

Saves the loss of a lot of typing.

I can imagine this feeling much less like a job and a grind when we're not getting blown away.
