Fresh off winning his first-ever MVP, Kevin Durant is following LeBron James into the world of premium cable. After James’ Starz series Survivor’s Remorse premiered on Saturday, it looks like Durant is getting a show of his own.
Durant had an interesting offseason to say the least. Following LeBron James’ decision to return to Cleveland, Durant’s upcoming free agency in 2016 became the dominant “where will he go?” storyline that isn’t going away anytime soon. He appeared poised to appear with Team USA in the FIBA World Cup but pulled out after Paul George‘s leg injury. He flirted with UnderArmour before re-upping his shoe deal with Nike.
HBO’s press release promises a “revealing” look at Durant’s offseason, and being that it’s HBO, hopefully it will go a little deeper than a typical “professional athlete lets cameras film him working out over the summer” documentary. Durant is one of the most important people in the NBA and it would be great to get a more intimate look at who he is off the court that doesn’t come off like a PR production.
