Apple Pay does not work for me?

Has anyone been able to use apple pay? i went to subway today and tried using it but it did not work. i went through the entire process and it read my thumb and said "done" but my transaction was not completed..

I don't want to use it and I have an Iphone.

I've heard stories of it still being more hassle than it is worth.

I think retailers at the basic level aren't 100% ready for it.

I've heard stories of people still having to sign for a purchase.

Another step in Apple owning you....aren't they trying to enable your Iphone to be able to unlock your car as well? I don't know about you but I'd be wary of one company having access to so many functions of your daily life.
