Shoplifting Arrest For Cowboys RB
Tim MacMahon discusses who may need to pick up Joseph Randle's carries if he loses playing time due to potential punishment from the Cowboys or the NFL following his Monday night arrest on shoplifting charges.
Dallas Cowboys reserve running back Joseph Randle was arrested for shoplifting from a suburban mall Monday night.
Joseph Randle, who has a base salary of $495,000 in 2014, is accused of stealing underwear and cologne from a Dillard's in a suburban mall.
Randle was charged with a misdemeanor Class B theft of $50 to $500, according to Frisco, Texas, police. He was released on writ bond at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Frisco Police Lt. Jason Jenkins said Randle is accused of attempting to steal underwear and cologne from Dillard's in Stonebriar Centre Mall.
The arrest report states that store security officers, watching via the closed-circuit surveillance system, observed Randle purchase an item at the perfume counter before walking to the underwear section and concealing merchandise in his Dillard's bag. He then exited the store before being stopped by security in the parking lot.
The store security officers recovered from Randle a two-pack of black Polo underwear valued at $39.50 and an almost full "tester" bottle of Gucci Guilty Black cologne valued at $84.
After being placed in the back of a police car, Randle told Frisco police officer Jason Kimbrough that he would have just kept walking to his car when confronted by security officer Raymond Wymer -- the "old guy," Randle called him -- if he had known he would be arrested, according to the arrest report.
Randle, a fifth-round pick in 2013 who is making a base salary of $495,000 this season, has rushed for 113 yards on 16 carries this season while playing behind NFL rushing leader DeMarco Murray.
Randle rushed for a season-high 52 yards on five carries in Sunday's win over the Seattle Seahawks. |

Quote: | Pat Angerer announces his retirement
Linebacker Pat Angerer had a workout here and there since getting cut by the Falcons in August, but he hadn’t lined up a gig with a new team this season and has decided that it is time to stop looking.
Angerer released a retirement announcement on Twitter on Tuesday, dropping the curtain on a four-year career that was spent entirely with the Colts before this summer’s failed attempt to make the Falcons.
“I want to walk away while I’m still able to give my wife and kids the man they deserve. I have given this sport all I got. It wouldn’t be fair to the game, the team, my family and my name to continue along this path any longer. It’s time to get healthy,” Angerer wrote. I’ve learned so much from so many great men along the way. I’m proud I was able to get a degree from a prestigious college and make a living playing a kids game. I had a lot of fun and I’ve been extremely fortunate. I’m excited about whatever the future entails. Thank you all for having my back.”
Angerer started 27 games and played in all 32 for the Colts in his first two seasons, but dropped to 22 games and 12 starts because of injuries the last two years. Those injuries have helped lead to multiple foot and knee surgeries and it seems Angerer has decided that his body’s been through enough. We wish him well in his future endeavors. |

Quote: | Report: Seahawks trade Percy Harvin to the Jets
Well, here’s your Friday afternoon news dump, which is actually more of a cannonball into the deep end.
According to Jay Glazer of FOX, the Jets have acquired wide receiver Percy Harvin in trade from the Seahawks in exchange for a draft pick.
Such a huge deal happening midseason is practically unheard of, and comes at a strange time for both teams.
If the Jets were going to do something like this, a better time would have been before they started 1-6.
And for the Seahawks, the defense of their title just got more complicated without a dymanic playmaker.
Obviously, we’ll have more on this throughout the night. |

Doesn't help the Jets because their problem is QB and partly OL. As for Seattle, they lose someone who hasn't done much the whole year and could use a bit of a shake-up. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

Good move for the Seahawks. They dump a guy who wasn't performing with the big contract they gave him. The Jets get a receiver but then its the Jets...... |

Rams got so lucky on that play.
Colts defense was on total lockdown today. That game wasn't as good of a challenge for the Colts as I thought it would be. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Not sure how legit that is and if true maybe the Seattle FO needs to be drug tested.

Quote: | Report: Seahawks proposed a Harvin-for-Julius Thomas trade
How’s this for a blockbuster trade proposal?
On this morning’s “Sunday NFL Countdown,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Seahawks offered wideout Percy Harvin to the Broncos in exchange for tight end Julius Thomas.
The Broncos passed, and Harvin was ultimately shipped to the Jets.
As Schefter noted, the 26-year-old Thomas is in the final year of his contract. And tight end is a need for Seattle with Zach Miller out for the time being.
Nevertheless, it’s logical to see why the Broncos passed. Wide receiver is a strength for the club, especially with Wes Welker back in the fold along side Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
And Julius Thomas, for his part, is having a wonderful season, with nine TD catches for 4-1 Denver.
Schefter also reported that Cleveland and Tampa Bay were both approached about Harvin, whom the Jets acquired for a conditional sixth-round pick. |

Sam just isn't good enough to compete on the NFL level--too slow, undersized, and one dimensional...
Also you know Troy Davis, whom the Cowboys just signed to the practice squad, is not exactly chopped liver. I mean, in college the guy was an All-Conference-USA First Team selection, and chosen as University of Central Florida's Outstanding Defensive player. The year before played with the Jets where he made significant contributions on special teams. _________________ “Love is the force that ignites the spirit and binds teams together.” - Phil Jackson |

I don't think it's nearly as crazy as it sounds at first. Harvin probably would look a lot better playing with Manning. If Harvin can be the same player he was a few years ago, he probably would look like a star in Denver. Look at how Emmanuel Sanders is doing there. He never did anything special before but in Denver he looks extremely good. And Eric Denver put up big numbers in Denver and looks like nothing special in NY (although to be fair, the Jets don't have a qb).
But of course it still seems dumb for Denver to trade someone who has proven he will succeed with Manning for someone who is more of a question mark. |

As outrageous as it is, based on the various factors.
They probably looked at the numbers and think Thomas is long gone in free agency next year and Denver might go for it.
Although when you factor in Harvin's salary
However I have no idea how the NFL salary cap works, so maybe Harvin's salary wouldn't be a hit on Denver's cap because Seattle paid him out already.
Regardless it makes no sense, Denver is going all out for a title this season.
Since Manning is 39, they probably don't care if half the team walks-in the offseason. |
