Yep, why not?.. Two solid backup kids for Lin tomorrow...

Though rivers is more of a gunner than clarskson. Neither is a true pg.

If no Will, I would like Lakers to take a look at Quincy Miller as Lakers are lacking at SF position.

True, they are score first players. But I think, Scott could get under their skin and shore them up. Of course, we could always go after a real PG...

Deron is owed 21 mill next season and 22 mill in 2017 after the summer Russell Westbrook is a Free agent.

I'm down to use the exception on a Small Forward like many others have stated earlier . Just not on Quincy Miller, the guy is another Wesley Johnson but with no defense. No thanx

Will Bynum can play but not sure if he's needed since Jeremy Lin, Ronnie Price and even Clarkson looks promising.

Really hope they get Mccaleb, best available option at pg imo.
His game would translate well in the nba.
And Clarkson will be playing at the sg spot so we do need another pg.

How is that even possible? D-Will makes 19m and we're only getting 4m. I thought we couldn't use the exception in a trade either. And Deron makes 20m for 2 seasons after this upcoming one. YUCK.

You can only trade the exception for a player who has an ending contract. That isn't Deron.

Isn't he like 5'10? Bobby Brown is better than him.

We should sign Beasley... Theoretically he will overpower most PG with his size and strength.. What are the chances something big like this will happen? We can sign him secretly so we can use that as a smokescreen.. ..

Wow, that surprises me.

I would rather trade the ending contract to a team looking to shed salary.

That's what I thought we'd do.

That makes too much sense for this Front Office.

But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that no one is looking to help the Lakers.

The Lakers can get the exception and still trade Nash. According to Larry Coon's FAQ section 25:

Quote:
Once granted, the exception expires when a player is acquired, when the disabled player is traded or returns to the team, or on March 10 of that season, whichever comes first.

This means they can either use the exception or trade him. They can pursue both simultaneously.

This smells like the perfect Mitch moment, with the ability to bully a team into a trade or miss out on a large expiring contract, a-la Memphis and Pau.

Byron Scott says Lakers are "probably going to have to look for another" point guard to bolster depth.

Bring on Peyton Siva or Aaron Craft if he gets waived by the Dubs.

I do like Craft for his tenacity and Siva for his court awareness, however, neither has the explosion nor the big game experience of a Bo McCalebb. The dude knows how to score and is a pest on D. A few years ago, Pau raved about Bo when he destroyed Real madrid.

Siva, Craft are good prospects with limited upside, McCalebb is ready to go. At least he's familiar with Byron Scott's expectations, being a rook in New Orleans when Byron was there.

Alright you've mentioned McCalebb several times now. I'm gonna go look him up.

Any good youtube vids showing his skills? Maybe Mike -at- LG can offer his scouting report on him

McCalebb would be my choice as well. Here's a video.

Thanks GT. Looks like a solid player. Hopefully the Lakers are aware of him

heck with these minor league guys, go for the homerun, go after Rajon Rondo. He and Kobe would be unbelievable together. Offer that 1st round pick and some other trash, maybe a future second rounder as well? Boston LOVES them some draft picks...

Sooner or later, we will have to learn from our mistakes. If they really want Rondo, then sign him in the offseason and keep your draft pick.

If they want us to dump him here, give us some lotto picks, we'll throw in Sacre too.

If Ireland said it, it's a reflection of his homer wishes. He's only passing it off as a Laker's agenda to give credence to his opinion. The man is a dimwit.

Maybe Ireland thinks having Deron reuniting with Booze will resurrect his career.

He can drink all he wants in Brooklyn.

Jerry Sloan approves this.

When has kobe played with another ball dominating pg? Nash was even relegated to a "Steve Kerr" role with Kobe and Nash was one of the best ball handling PGs.

Rondo would be the best thing that could happen to Kobe for these next 2 years. Rondo has the cojones to look off Kobe as well and Kobe would respect that. It would save Kobe a heck of a lot of energy to let Rondo run around and create open looks for guys. Also Rondo would be tremendous for our big men.

No way a late first rounder and a second rounder plus whatever trash the Lakers might toss in would eventually... = getting a Rondo RIGHT NOW.

I'd also be on the bandwagon for Hibbert. I didn't think that dude would last 2 seasons in the NBA but he worked his butt off. Yeah, he's a bit weak mentally but perhaps? some angry glares from Kobe elevate his game? or... he folds? who knows, but Hibbert does a lot of dirty work that our current Centers just can't do.

I agree that pursuing rondo would be a mistake, but what was posted about Nash and Kobe is false. Nash was not healthy and could not play any longer. Kobe and a healthy bash would have been beautiful on offense. And Kobe and cp3 would have been beautiful on both sides of the ball
