I didn't expect Nucky to be killed. Tommy, son of Jimmy did the deed. To many loose ends. Gillian, Eli, Luciano, Daughter.

In this series the bad guys won.

The shift from then to now was tied well. Made the end characters connections clearer.

In this series the bad guys won. Its true, bad guys/gangsters won. lucky and Lansky. They started the commission aka "A sit down" and became the most powerful guys in the mob.

I didn't think they would kill off Nucky's character. When Gillian asked to see him, I thought she would try to do something to Nucky after killing her son and giving her to the Commodore. I knew he kid played an angle in it some kind of way, but not being Jimmy's son seeking revenge, cause I know 7 years had passed and I figured it would make him about 12 or 13. Glad to Dr. Narcise get his in the end! Nonetheless, it was still a great series and one that I'm going to miss.

bummed that the show is over and it didn't receive the fanfare that other shows have gotten in the last few years.

Just checking HBO's premiere schedule to look for what might replace BE next Fall. Westworld and the possibility of a Dark Tower series are intriguing. I can't speak for anyone else, but I've gotten so use to these dark dramas like GoT, BE, Sopranos, The Wire, Walking Dead , and Homeland on Sundays.

Absolutely. Part of the routine. Kids asleep, I'm ready to unwind with some intense dark TV viewing.

It's both a shame and a wonder that their backs had to be against to produce a season that matches the quality of S1-3. S4 was so unbearably dull that I almost wrote off S5, which would have been a huge mistake. This season was haunting and beautifully written.

It's a shame Season 5 felt too rushed. But otherwise, it's a fitting end to a show that had a lot of promise but fell hard towards the end.

Considering there were no "good guys" involved in the series, that was a given. And I think on some level that was the point. There were no good guys. There may have been some bad guys who were less objectionable than others. But everyone was a bad guy. Even the characters you might have some sympathy for demonstrated their evil streaks.
