The Lakers are 6th in line for Miller, chances are they don't even have the opportunity. If they do, then they will likely waive someone before 5 tonight.
problem is now that ellington is hurt his salary becomes guaranteed if he is waived while hurt.
i dont see that happening. Maybe later they will but not as of 5 today
True. I wonder if he will clear waivers. Earliest we could probably cut Ellington is tomorrow if he is cleared to play. 5 days is usually enough to pass the concussion tests right? _________________ “This goes far beyond paychecks”
Mi. er seems to fit the current Laker plan. Young talent who has stuck out elsewhere. Give him another chance.
Yep.
He came out of Baylor a year or maybe two years early. Kid has a lot of talent, but his body was not ready for the NBA at 19 years old. He will be 22 in a few weeks and it looks like he has at least added some strength if not a lot of weight. His hoop IQ is about 3X Wes' and he has a good handle. He can score the ball and is a pretty good distributor too. He's not super athletic, but he is suuuper long for a SF. 6'10" with a 7'3" wingspan.
Hopefully Philly passes on him and we can pick him up. I think he would be a better fit for our starting unit than Wes.
Philly is in tank mode so I hope they pass on him. Plus they like to collect injured players, is there anyway they'd be interested in Nash? Blatant tankers.
whats the reason for philly to trade for nash?
Just throwing it out there. With Nash.. since he won't be playing they lose more games, and an expiring contract? No idea.

Philly takes injured players for draft picks, not for fun. They're not just going to pay Nash 10 mil for no reason. Throw in 2 firsts and maybe they do it, but then why would we?

That depends on if there will be a player available that the FO wants. If there is, I doubt Ellington's small salary would prohibit them. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

we wouldn't. I was teasing their Org for being blatant tankers.

There has to be someone out there better than him... He's worse than D. Morris & Glock... _________________ My Laker squad.

The Rockets waived guard Ish Smith and forward Jeff Adrien on Monday, along with the previously determined moves reducing the roster to the required 15 players.

Alright, Quincy Miller will solve all of our problems!
Nope, just a piece to develop for the future...Lakers will suck this year
it's kinda of a time to get some pieces ... _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !

He's a young guy with skills that you pick up and develop. Something that the Spurs are masters at. The Cavs cut Danny Green. The Blazers cut Patty Mills. Its about the big picture and not being narrow minded.

Some of you guys who wanted this may get your wish.
We don't have a roster space so until we waive someone, just speculation.
Lakers could land him for the disabled players exception(either Randle's or nash's, most likely Randle's) or by letting go of Ellington.
And any word on whether the Lakers have formally done it? (I'm agreeing with you but stating the obvious that we don't have the space right now). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Don't know, hasn't been announced.
But one thing I do know is that Ellington has now recovered and within about 24 hours the Lakers were announced the leading suitor for Miller.
Ellington had better play tonight like his career and contract depends on it =P The Lakers may not want to wait as long as it would take to get the players exception for Randle and Nash.
