I don't want Pau Gasol in this team because I love watching a bunch of superstars like Sacre playing right now. |

Not surprised that Gasol looks better in the Leastern Conference. |

17-7-2-1 is terrible? As our only interior option? Ok. But Pau would have brought his quality NBA defense too, eh? I forgot, he doesn't play defense. |
I thought he looked terrible when I posted that but he did look better later on. So I wouldn't call it a terrible game anymore.
I don't even remember Boozer playing defense in his prime so I don't get your point about Gasol being a bad defender. And the fact that Boozer was the only interior option makes me less impressed, not more impressed. That means he will get the ball more, get more shots and get more opportunities to pad his stats. |

I think he'll post rejuvenated numbers this season just because he's in a different environment now. Its a team that has a chance to go deep in the eastern conference. |
He has two guys in Noah/Gibson to anchor and hide behind on defense too.
He just has to go out and work on offense, grab some boards...something even at his worse days as a Lakers he was still doing with relative ease.
That's a real nasty big man trio. Only other one I can think of is AD/Asik/Ryan Anderson. Different set of skills altogether but both are probably the best trio of bigs in the league. |

Gasol just had a 21-11 game. All he needed was a fresh situation from all the crap he had to take. |

It helps Pau now that he's on a team that plays defense and guards don't get free runs in open space at him anymore. The Bulls actually stick with their men and even when guards drive they're shadowed and can't use their full elevation. But let's see if the Bulls with Pau are really that good, or if the Knicks are just that bad. |

Really? Except Pau brings height, passing, and ball movement in addition to his scoring and rebounding. Boozer will put up points and thats about it. Pau's selflessness makes teammates better. Pau also defends against Dwight pretty good--Boozer cannot defend against DH. Boozer plays on an island. |
Can we not do that thing where we underrate the players we don't have that we don't like, overrate players we don't have that we do like, and so on?
Pau was highly unmotivated as a Laker in his final season, so much so that he took less money to play elsewhere. |
Jim Buss and Mike D'Antoni are genius demotivators. |

Talk about jumping off a sinking ship. Gasol made the right move. He looks a lot more relaxed, etc. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I love what he did for the team in helping win 2 chips and another finals appearance, but I don't miss his inconsistent, whiny, passive aggression. _________________ “It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”

I like Pau and what he did for us, he will get his #'s and last night is not a full picture of whats to come but if I am a Bulls fan what will concern me is if my best player the last 2 seasons, Noah, gets only 20 mins while Gasol and Gibson get 30 mins each.
Lets see in a tight game when Thibs who values defense first has Gibson and Noah out ther for 30+ mins each and Gasol is around the 20 min mark and how Gasol reacts that to me will be a telling tale |

Yeah it seems it really is combination of two things
1) Bulls have a much better squad from top to bottom
2) As many of us have said numerous times, MDA was god awful at using Pau in the most optimal ways
Personally I think it's nice to see Gasol do well, he was imo unfairly treated as a whipping boy here, in particular the last couple of years |

I think Noah is working his way back from an injury/surgery.
I think it's Gibson/Noah at the end, and Pau sits. He's only making $7m as opposed to $20m so he can piss/moan all he wants. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I hope Gasol gets another ring IF and only IF it is at the expense of the Cavs, Clippers or Spurs getting one |

when Noah getting regular minutes and Gibson demands more minutes it is gonna be at Gasols expense will be interesting to see how he plays and reacts then thats all I am saying Pau can put up 18/10 on any team on any night and you see with Lakers now why Kobe wanted him back and why Chicago wanted Boozer gone lol |

At the price the Lakers were offering Pau to come back, that was a no brainer for me. When he was making $20m, hard to root for his effort. But now at 7m, yeah, he's easily worth it. He's going to do well there. High BBALL IQ all around and the guys share the ball, even DRose.
As much as I P&M about Pau, it was really about his large contract. We will miss him here and I do wish him the best, particularly against the Cavs. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Not time to move on...not clinging to an ex...its time to figure out why:
1) First time that a player like Dwight Howard leaves the Lakers
2) First time no big time quality free agents signed with the Lakers
3) First time one of our best players walked away from $6 million to sign elsewhere
There is a problem and its not "just on the court".
Our front office is killing this team and the blame starts with the decision of a father to let his incompetent son run the team... and has now fully blossomed into a disaster with that incompetent son making the decisions.
As long as Jim Buss is running the show, the Lakers are going nowhere. _________________ A three headed monster... Jeannie, Pelinka, and Ham... another terrible season. |

I wonder when the mods are going to move this to the other forum as Pau is no longer a player.
Either way, all we know is that barring some insane miracle, or a Kobe trade, Pau will have a chance to be integral to a team to win th ring, while Kobe will not. |
