Miller is diff better then Wes from watching his youtube videos... just hasn't had the opportunity..... now we can package Wes along with Hill for a real starting C. |

We potential have a 'real starting C' at least from the defensive perspective in Davis.
if Davis pans out I'd look at keeping him, for his defense, athleticism, ability and speed.
Davis is about an off-season of hard work, strength training and 10 pounds away from being a problem for opposing guards that want to get to the paint.
He isn't really that small, he's 241 pounds.
Go into the off-season, hope Lakers re-sign him, he goes through strength training, adds size, gets himself ready to actually be a starter, enters camp at around 249-250 pounds, healthy. I think he'd be a just fine piece to keep. His pick and roll ability in itself would add a bit more dimension to the offense we're trying to run imo. Even if his upside was that of Tyson Chandler more so than a Deandre Jordan, still.. that's a pretty solid piece. |

Eh; Miller strikes me as another Shawne Williams. Oversized small forward with extremely overrated floor spacing ability, and can't hit anything inside the three point line to save his life (41.3% in the D-League, 39% on 2s! last season with Denver). He's a deceptively good shotblocker with length, actually, but a subpar rebounder especially for his size. I'm not too sold here, but at only age 21 and him having the hype meter through high school, I suppose it could be an interesting play. We do need to have the illusion of floor spacing, but eh. |

We have desperately needed help at SF for at least two seasons!
Quote: | With the Lakers in desperate need of some help at the small forward position, Miller could have an opportunity to come in and shoulder the load at the three spot behind starter Wesley Johnson. Miller is by no means a game-changer for Los Angeles, but an option the team could explore with so many players currently on the shelf. |

How long is it going to take before we sign this guy or anybody for that matter. The Front Office are just going to sit on their hands? I'm sure the injury provision has been approved, no? |

We don't have to cut anyone, we'd just sign him to a one year deal with Randle's DPE and see if he pans out and then try to re-sign him after this year if he does. |

Cut Henry and sign Miller. I don't know if he isn't fully 100% or just lacks confidence but he doesn't look right out there. |

Yea but they are still on the roster so they still count. Max is 15. |

They count as assets replacable with players while they're out for a year. You don't have to get rid of anyone.
Randle's "spot" is basically a DPE which can be used to sign another player for one year. They could use the DPE to sign Miller and he would just take Randle's spot on the roster as Randle isn't playing this year.
So basically the Lakers don't have to get rid of anyone, they could sign Miller with the DPE they got from Randle. Same goes for Nash when they get his DPE hopefully.
Because with the logic of "but there's still 15 despite the DPE" that would basically mean that if you had a team with 10 injured players out for the year and had a DPE for all 10 of them that you couldn't get any player unless you cut someone. Which makes no sense.
They could sign Miller with Randle's DPE for the rest of the year, and then they'd have to re-sign him after this season if he pans out as they'd have open roster spots due to other ending contracts. |

No one has to be cut. The person being brought in will be a replacement for Randle. Randle doesn't count as a roster spot since the Lakers were granted the player exception. |

It was reported last season that Nets would have had to cut or trade someone to use the Brook Lopez disabled player exception. We are in the same situation.

If we want a better offensive option at the 3 spot.... Jordan Hamilton probably makes more sense.. |
