2015 is when you realise if Kobe got offer'd less you would be in a better position for 2015. If Kobe took 12-15 mill would be much better for the Lakers. Im not bashing Kobe just pointing it out, is Lamarcus Aldridge a FA next year? I think Lakers will get Westbrook one day.
This has been discussed hundreds of times already... Kobe was never going to take that big of a pay cut.

OKC is up against the cap next season with the contracts they now have, so matching Jackson is something they might pass on for a decent deal. Offer him the $7-8 mil you were going to give Lin?

I would. I mean, lin looks like crap right now. I rather role with clarkson as of now. R Jax would be nice, but then is he that much better than isiah thomas would have been? Or bledsoe? Or stephenson? I guess it doesn't matter now.

Jackson's upside is WAY higher than Lin's. No brainer in my book.

Rubio's extension offer is rumored to be 4 year/52-53M. Way to blow the doors off the PG market Minny.

I agree, Reggie Jackson is a far better player and it isn't even close.

I like Hibbert and Afflalo.

Thats granted that Kawhi, DeAndre and Gasol don't leave - otherwise pay them.

summer 15 is more about the draft spot

MUST get that top 5

MUST use that as a chip to get a proven star (not draft somebody unproven who will inevitably shred some tendon or ligament and be toast for the year)

CLOSE eye on philly, orl, detroit, maybe boston as possible co tankers

can't let milwaukee sneak in there to knock us outta the top 5

nobody out west even close to taking away our top (bottom) spot as top tank team

With Randle going down, and guys like Klay off the board, there really isn't much hope of 2015 being any better unless we grab that top 5 pick.

The one thing that would excite me is the option of adding an ultra-athletic big man like Deandre Jordan to go alongside Randle. Moving forward, that would have the potential to be the most dominant front court in basketball. I don't see Balmer letting him walk, though, so that's unlikely. No thanks on paying 15M+ for a big man like Asik or Hibbert. Yes, they're good defenders, but I'd only be interested in guys like that if they were the final piece to compete. If all we did in the offseason was add one of those two guys, we're still going to miss the playoffs. I like Gasol a lot more, but if we don't have the top 5 pick to deal, we're not going to have a quality team around him until he starts going downhill.

Swaggy P is going to kill us again this year.

What kind of user name is that on a lakers forum?

I would target Reggie Jackson and Jimmy Butler this summer and try to pair them with our top-5 pick (Karl Towns or Okafor).

Which means we'll have to seriously overpay to get him.

Very wishful thinking. No chance the Spurs don't match any offer for him. Buford and holt both know Leonard is their post Duncan franchise guy and he seems to thrive in pops system.

Yup and durant will be looking for the max soon too. I think they have to let Reggie go. Unfortunately I think the lakers are all in on Lin as the pg of the future unless we draft mudiay. Hopefully we can get that top 3 pick and end up with someone like okafor, towns, or mudiay.
