Dan Gilbert comes to mind. |
You want a team to flop because of the owner? Did you want the Clippers to fail because of Sterling? |
Nah, I wanted to Clippers to fail because they're the Clippers. That David Stern was there owner only made it a little more fun. |
I think you meant Donald Sterling. You mave have Stern on the brain because of the veto. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Ha ... talk about your Freudian slips. Then again, the veto and then the subsequent clearing of CP3 to the Clips makes one think he was also acting as interim owner of that other Staples Center occupant as well. _________________ We back. |

Didn't hear Gilbert and the other small market owners raising objections about CP3 to the Clippers. They have the same "big" market as the Lakers. I'm over it but it still seems hypocritical. |

I understand the animosity for Gilbert and small market owners. I don't think that animosity should be directed at the team or it's players. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

The Clippers didn't shed millions off of their payroll and take money out of the small market's pockets like the Laker deal did. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

So, you're offended by the organization making a good business deal? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Why do you say he has an enormous ego? He didn't plan, pay for or participate in the concert. It's the doings marketeers. They're bringing attention to Cleveland and the NBA.
IMO people should understand what's going on. LeBron is the face of the NBA. I also think some fans need to let "The Decision" go. LeBron's grown since and like him or not, he's living up to the hype.
I'll never go to a mans job and kick the shovel out of his hand. I want to see him succeed, my Lakers ain't goin nowhere this season. |
Did you hear what he said pre-game about how a meaningless regular season game against the Knicks was going to be "one of the biggest sporting events ever" solely because of him?
Quote: | “Don’t take this moment for granted. This is going to be one of the — this is one of the biggest sporting spectacles in the history of sports. And we’re a part of it. And it has a lot to do with me. I understand that. But I wouldn’t want to do it with no other guys besides ya’ll.” |
The nerve of this guy. The nerve of the media to act like this was a revolutionary moment in the history of sports by throwing a super bowl-esque concert pre-game, airing documentaries, etc ALL BECAUSE HE SWITCHED JERSEYS. Okay, maybe he didn't plan or pay for the concert, but do you think he didn't enjoy every second of it? I gained a LOT of respect for the Knicks last night for completely ruining this home coming bull (bleep). I CERTAINLY don't want to see him, Dan Gilbert, the joke of a franchise that is the Cavs, or that pathetic city of Cleveland succeed, ever. |

Of course not. The NBA is full of egos. I'm just saying the stuff that was went down last night and all the hype around it was so pathetically over the top and unnecessary. |

One word, MARKETING. LeBron in the face of the NBA much as Kobe, at one time, Jordan, still, is. It was all about drawing attention to the NBA. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
