Looks like most articles don't even mention the right ankle and the one i showed a link to says that isn't serious. But for Bulls fans it's only natural to be worried. The guy can't even get past the 2nd game without being injured.

I mentioned this before, but most people key on the major knees injuries but it's glossed over how banged up he was prior to the ACL injury that season. He had an assortment of lower body injuries I believe that year.

I think we as a fan base can relate to that.

Please don't give the Cavs a cakewalk to the finals.

His issue is that he catches breaks too easily, lol.

I'm starting to think Rose is similar to Bynum and will never really be healthy again. At some point it stops being coincidence/chance and starts to indicate something wrong with the body.

Just look at the way he plays. He plays too recklessly for his own good. It's starting to catch up to Westbrook too.

Better change his game. If fact all the point guards who fall every time they go to the basket eventually end up injured.

He needs to start playing smart!!!! All those daring moves need to stop!!!! He is not as strong as he once was.. those knees and ankles will only hold out so much..

Rose is similar to D Wade in this regard. There's a toll to pay for reckless play!

More details on his injury, and it turns out that he DID sprain both ankles.

http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=11820144

Quote:
Rose sprained both of his ankles during Friday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers and sat out Saturday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves as a precaution

He injured both ankles on the same play.

Quote:
"It was the same play, actually," Rose said. "I don't know who does that. When I sprained my left one, my right [foot] came out of my shoe a little bit and it went back in halfway and it tweaked the right one a little bit on the same play. If you look at the film again, you probably can see me holding my ankles at the same time.

Rose sat out the game today against the Magic.

Fragile. I'd imagine he will be back soon, but if he keeps getting hurt there is no way the Bulls can find continuity.

What's funny is when he said don't worry, I thought he meant it's nothing serious and that he'll play. But when he missed his next games, I was thinking I should have known better. His version of "don't worry" is that he'll take his time and sit out games, including getting "mentally" right.

The fact that he sat out only two games, and that the Bulls said it was for precaution, tells you it wasn't a serious sprain. Kobe doesn't sit out for "precaution." Injuries happen in sports, so I don't believe Rose is fragile. I just wonder how serious were those sprains and whether or not he's mentally weak.

Before the Boston game...

"He's just out, not ready to go yet," Thibodeau said succinctly of Rose's sore ankles. "See where he is (Sunday) and go from there. I feel good about the other guys. Everyone has to step up. Aaron (Brooks) and Kirk (Hinrich) are doing a good job filling in.

"Injuries are part of the game. So if a guy is not comfortable going, he's not going to go. You just go to the next guy. Get out there and get it done."

Doesn't seem like Doctor's orders. Seems like Rose's choice. I wonder how restless Chicago fans are.

Chicago fans would be more restless if they lost Rose for the year on an ankle injury.

The Bulls are deep enough to be able to 'deal with it' if he's resting.

Would rather see Thibs rest Rose on nights where the Bulls should win regardless than play him 40 mins again. Unfortunately Butler seems to be the guy who will endure this.

He did come back to play 31 minutes against Milwaukee on Wednesday, but tweaked the injuries and sat out games on Friday and Saturday.

Rose looked very good tonight. I hope he stays healthy, but it always feels like he's constantly on the edge of going down.

I can't help but keep picking on D-Rose. Here's a new gem today...

"I think a lot of people don't understand that when I sit out it's not because of this year. I'm thinking about long term. I'm thinking about after I'm done with basketball."

"I'm thinking about long term. I'm thinking about after I'm done with basketball. Having graduations to go to, having meetings to go to, I don't want to be in my meetings all sore or be at my son's graduation all sore just because of something I did in the past. [I'm] just learning and being smart."

Uh.. as if understanding that makes it any better. If you're going to be extra cautious and sit out for every little thing, you should have told the fans and the Bulls organization that fact prior to signing that deal. Adidas probably would have appreciated a heads up too. He's essentially admitting he can actually play when he sits out. Already thinking about life after basketball. LOL! This guy is going to be on the trading block in a few years.

All along I thought his desire to sit out was based on 3 seasons ago, where the accumulation of lower body injuries eventually lead to the ACL tear.

If you could objectively link all the injuries to the ACL or not, it was a valid concern at least.

But for long-term? I don't know how much periodic resting will help his cartilage if he plays 15 years in the league.
