Some sexy basketball in 2nd and 3rd quarters.
after wondering, how in the world will they make this work, amazing to see them play like this
some beautiful stuff from the team, especially kobe
didn't see the whole game but my highlights
Boozer, not good throughout, but some great stuff to get us the lead - unexpectedly good passing and IQ (I think this struck me because he was so so bad in 1st 2 games)
Jordan Hill's hot shooting hand, wonderful to see
J Lin - really taking charge of the team, and looking to be in the zone , his court vision getting better and better
Davis - always active, finding good position underneath, and converting for some very pretty plays
Price - showing poise and ability to lead 2nd unit
Kobe - astonishing, ... best part of night seeing how far back he was
X-good to have him back, even if he's missing easy layups |

It seems the reports of LA being the Clippers town, may have been a bit premature |

Well, there might be some light at the end of the tunnel. The team played some great basketball and looked confortable through the 3rd and 4th quarters. Shame the refs did the dirty work for the Clips |

The refs, Clips and most of the world were caught off guard and surprised by the way the Lakers played last night.
The refs did not adjust and rise to the moment; all at our expense. |

They were good looks that just didn't go down. How is that hero ball, again? |
They were contested shots. Much better to get the ball inside for layups as they had or uncontested 3's. Even with Kobe the long range turnaround 2... 6-15 |

Even though he had a smaller man on him, those were well defended shots. And I'd like to see our bigs crash the boards when they know a shot is going up. They were just standing and watching. |

the game was a big step in the right direction. The Clippers and their fans were probably expecting a walk in the park and got the opposite. I watched the Clipper broadcast for fun and they were nervous all game and were very complimentary of Kobe all game, saying he looked 25, etc. They were not able to enjoy that win. |

Wesley Johnson needs to improve. Boozer, Hill, Lin and Kobe looked to be on the same page yesterday, or at least moving towards that. Wesley just has too many mental breakdowns. It's one thing to have brain farts, another to be playing in a fog and Wesley looks like he's in a fog that clears for very short time periods only. |

They know damn well they got lucky....hard to win when the refs give the opposing team 19 shots at the free throw line....look at the Lakers in comparison, they only had 2 shots at the free throw line...if you take the last 6 free throws away, when the Lakers were fouling to try to stop the clock, that is still a disparity of 13-2....

They were typical and makeable shots for Kobe, especially considering a substantially smaller guard was on him. Your Monday morning quarterbacking doesn't change that. |

Team played great. Hill was a beast. I thought the foul calls were one-sided as usual. Lin got fouled bad by Deondre...lots of ghost calls for the Clippers.
Sacre made too many mistakes and was the real reason that cost us the game. I think we need to use the disabled player exception for a big to replace Sacre. Sacre has good heart and is a great guy, but the talent isn't there, and the mindset isn't there.
This team showed they could be competitive. Kobe shot poorly in the last quarter and he failed to close out. May be an unfair statement since he was pretty efficient the whole game. I can't blame the game on Kobe...the shots he took were shots he can make. He is the closer, and for a good reason, but the shots just didn't fall last night. |
