Feast in the East… Facing a softer Eastern Conference opponent is just what the doctor ordered. The Lakers clamped down on D in the first quarter, while throttling up the offense to season-high 67 points in the first half.

With Nick Young back injecting a little positive energy and scoring punch into the lineup, the Lakers looked more like a team than a doormat for others step all over. They snapped their losing streak with their second win of the season, 114-109 over the Hawks.

Kobe was efficient, Lin was effective with a 15-10 double-double, Boozer added 20 and 10, Jordan Hill was on the glass making big plays at key moments and Young provided 17 points off the bench.

Despite all that (and really not a great sign), the Hawks were still in the game down the stretch. It was Kobe and Young offensively in crunch time with Hill cleaning up misses. They were scoring fine…they just couldn’t shut the door. Boozer’s 20 and 10 game was dwarfed by his very poor D, which gave up 29 points to Millsap and was the soft spot the Hawks repeatedly attacked on the two-man game.

“We played with a lot more defensive energy tonight,” Scott said. The Lakers took their first road win of the season in the process.

Hopefully, the team is more committed to that end of the floor, and the return of SwaggyP makes them more competitive.

Kobe -- -- “He’s going to give you everything he’s got every single night he’s out there,” Scott said. As I mentioned, he has been taking both his shots and Nick Young’s shots in games. Now that Nick is back, Kobe’s shots attempts will go down. Recognizing that the guards were starting to get doubled off the screens, we didn’t go to the split sequences down the stretch. Instead, we had Kobe work off a Lin screen and iso. This was an adjustment that goes back to the Spurs game. We’re much better off having Hill battle on the offensive glass, then giving him the ball 20 feet from the hoop while we work those split plays. After an efficient first half for Kobe, the Hawks started to double him and Lin off the screens. Congrats to Kobe on hitting the 32,000-point mark. A very well-rounded game in this one. He had that poor shooting night when he was sick, bounced back with the 40+ point game, but on high volume and finally looked more like himself from a couple years ago in this game. Defensively, he sagged of Thabo and helped at times. Had Scott adjusted his lineup better, this could have been more of a lockdown/blowout game but the Lakers couldn’t get separation despite some double-figure leads. “Defense was very solid,” Kobe said. “We did a much better job in transition. We gave ourselves an opportunity. We get back in transition and stop those easy baskets and make them score against us in the halfcourt, we’re pretty good.” The Stats: He scored 28 points on 10-18 shooting (3-7 from three, 5-5 from the line) to go with 4 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal, 3 turnovers and 4 fouls in 37 minutes. He was a +11. The Action: He swished a turnaround trying to beat the shotclock. He stole a pass, pushed it out and hit Lin for the layup. He missed an elbow jumper. Sloppy screen leveling Lin’s man on the exchange, turnover. He sank a sideline three in early offense. He missed a three in transition, got it tipped back to him and he drew FTs, he made both. He drew FTs on Bazemore on the turnaround from the top of the key, he made both. He lost Bazemore on a fake-left-go-right turnaround swish on the baseline. He iso’d on the last possession, drew the D and whipped a pass to Nick for the open three. He scored a layup on the breakaway feed from Lin. He sank a wing three in early offense. Looked like a great defensive play to cut off baseline and strip a man, but he was called for the foul. He swished a wing three, pulling up in his man’s face. He had 19 points on just 6-9 shots. Second Half: He missed a wing three. He was picked bringing the ball up and gave up a dunk. He drew both defenders on a screen and found Boozer for the open jumper. Hockey assist, drawing the double, he kicked to Price who went to Swaggy for the three. He worked off the Lin screen to get a switch and hit the baseline jumper over the smaller man (better than getting the double team off the bigman screens). He missed a three off the Lin screen, it was tapped back to him and he attacked for a layup. He missed a wing jumper off the Lin screen. He missed a baseline fade. He attacked off the three line and hit the running, lefty hook, so nice. He picked up the dribble, drew contact and swished the wing turnaround And-1 for his 32,000th point, he made the FT. He posted up and threaded a pass to Nick in the corner who was fouled on the three. He didn’t see the ball on an inbounds and gave up a lob right over him. He missed a tough corner turnaround jumper with 7 on the shotclock, but Hill tipped in.

Lin -- --“To be honest, we never really talked about offense at all,” Lin said about what the Lakers focus was. “We talked a lot of defense and like we’ve been saying, defense will take care of offense.” When he talks about communication and trust, he’s not talking about offense as much as everyone would like to think or assumes because of Kobe’s high volume of shots on that end. Lin is actually talking about D. “We just got to talk, be on the same page and care more about it. We have to continue to trust each other in terms of the weakside being there. We’re making rotations. We’re making multiple efforts.” That’s what his trust, communication and effort quote was about in the last game. Sure he had an invisible game offensively, but he’s talking about the real problem which has been our atrocious defense. I loved seeing him scream at Boozer in crunch time after Boozer completely botched the two-man D. That was the most animated I’ve seen him all season and it was about the D. Loved it. Offensively, a lot more Kobe/Lin two-man action in this game. Much of this was because of how the D has been trapping both Lin and Kobe off of our bigs…or taking away our split plays by sagging off our bigs. The D tonight led to some transition opportunities for Lin to get out and use his speed. The floor spacing was also better and Lin took advantage of that. He was clearly much more aggressive and put together his most well-rounded offensive game. We brought in Swaggy and Davis earlier in rotations for Wes and Boozer. This will help him as Young makes everything easier and Lin and Davis have always had some chemistry. We still need to get him more shots and incorporate him better down the stretch. It will come. Our offensive system has been so awful, but the team will improve with time. The Stats: He scored 15 points on 6-7 shooting (1-2 from three, 2-3 from the line) to go with 3 boards, 10 assists, 2 steals, 3 turnovers and 5 fouls in 31 minutes. He was a +1. The Action: He dumped it to Kobe with 4 seconds left and Kobe hit the turnaround to bail them out. He worked the two-man game to Boozer for a score. He trailed the Kobe break, took the pass and scored the layup. He attacked the paint, drew contact but didn’t look like he meant to shoot so the refs didn’t give him FTs even though they could have. The D sagged off him to deny the post so he sank the wing three. Nice D in transition to deflect a pass when he had to pick up a bigman. He pushed out the board, attacked between two players, took contact and scored the easy And-1 at the front of the rim, he made the FT. Great dig on D to steal the ball, he then pushed it out and hit Kobe for the layup. He saw Boozer ahead of the pack and outlet to him for the layup. He attacked baseline, drew the D and dumped a bounce pass like Nash to Davis at the front of the rim for the And-1. He swished a wing jumper off a Kobe brush screen. He attacked off the Kobe screen again after getting an angle and he hit the pull-up bank. Bad pass and it was taken for a dunk the other way. He had 12 points on 5-5 shooting and 6 assists. Second Half: He swiped a pass with some good hustle in transition D (but he gave it back with a bad pass to Kobe). He was stripped on a double team, layup the other way. He attacked and hit Hill for the dunk in transition. He probed, drew the D and hit Hill again for a layup. He crossed over and swished the pull-up at the top of the key. He threw a bad pass to Hill’s ankles in the paint for a turnover. He gave up a couple layups to his man with some weak D. He turned the corner against a trap, drew the D and whipped it to Davis for the dunk. He attacked off the high screen (more please), drew the D and the foul at the rim, he made one FT. He missed an open sideline three on a Kobe kickout. Weak clear-path foul when he was trying to get a loose ball on a jumpball, seems like you’ve got to give the defender a chance to come up with ball on a scramble like that but he was behind Korver by half a step.

Hill -- -- “Ain’t nobody going to keep me off the boards,” JHill said. It doesn’t make sense to have one of the most potent offensive rebounders setting up for 15- to 18-foot jumpers over and over again. Even worse when we play into the hands of opponents when they double off his screens or defend our split plays easily by sagging off and forcing Jordan to be the guy to shoot open jumpers or stall the offense by not taking them. Just stupid ball, but that’s how we roll sometimes. So instead what we saw in this game was Hill battling under the glass for key putback scores or keeping offensive boards alive down the stretch. That should be a key part of how we close games. He gives us second chances at critical times…if we put him in position to succeed. He did most of his work in the second half. Defensively, average game again. The Lakers were better in transition. The Stats: He scored 18 points on 8-17 shooting (2-2 from the line) to go with 10 boards (5 offensive), 1 assist, 1 turnover and 4 fouls in 31 minutes. He was a +5. The Action: He backed his man down and fumbled away the post up, transition foul by Hill getting beat down court. He missed a jumphook. He missed an open elbow jumper. He missed a layup off the drive. Second Half: He posted up and missed the jumphook. He slammed on the drive and dish from Lin in transition. He scored a layup when Lin drew a crowd and found him in the lane (not settling for a jumper). He attacked from the elbow and scored a layup. He sank a short jumphook in the post. He sank an open 16-footer. He missed the pick and pop jumper from the same spot, stepping back, though to make it tougher. He iso’d, nearly charged and hit the short one when his man went down. He missed a 19-footer left open. He missed an 8-footer set up by Lin’s drive. He kept a Kobe miss alive and Kobe scored on the drive. He tipped in a missed Swaggy jumper next time down, big score. He was tied up under the hoop trying to rise up a bit too deep under the hoop. Huge tip in of a Kobe miss up by 3 with 17 seconds left to go up by 5. He was fouled on the final rebound with a second left, he made both FTs.

Boozer -- -- It’s hard to be mad at 20 and 10 from Boozer…but man was his D atrocious. It was awful. There’s a reason Millsap led all scorers with 29. He just torched Boozer with ease. The Hawks also attacked Boozer off the two-man game down the stretch, as well, so it was more than just Boozer’s man feasting off him. Late in the game, Jeremy Lin screamed at Boozer for a complete botch of the two-man D to give up a soaring dunk to a guard with no one near him. Really, if we aren’t going to use him offensively down the stretch, we should sit him. Scott did in the final minute, but he may need to do that sooner depending on how much the opponent decides to abuse him. You could put together a highlight reel for Boozer with the scores and looking like his old self offensively… and a hell of a lowlight reel with the D. At one point early in the game every time Boozer would score it seemed like he’d give it right back on the other end. We should end the nonsense about Boozer not defending because he doesn’t get touches offensively. This is prime example of him getting the ball a lot for scores but being completely worthless on the other end. He just doesn’t defend well. Period. He was a net -4 while on the floor tonight. It seemed worse than that. The Stats: He scored 20 points on 10-14 shooting to go with 10 boards (4 offensive), 2 assists and 3 fouls in 29 minutes. He was a -4. The Action: No D and he gave up a layup. He missed a wide open 17-footer. Another score for his man on the other end. He fumbled a post entry pass, recovered it and hit the baseline fallaway. He gave up an easy reverse on the other end, horrible D. He sank an elbow jumper working the two-man game with Lin. Another score for his man, they are just attacking Boozer with ease to start the game. A three for his man again. He posted up and missed the turnaround. He got backdoored with some lazy D to give up an And-1 layup, just killing me. He sank a floater off the two-man game with Price. Another score for his man. He tipped in a missed Hill layup. He up-faked, attacked and scored the layup. He got ahead of the pack in transition, took a long outlet and scored the layup. He missed an open baseline jumper. He got crossed over badly and gave up a massive dunk, wow. He jab-stepped and swished the baseline jumper. Nice job trying to get a loose ball on a reach on D, diving to the floor. He grabbed a miss by Wes and scored the easy one. Weak challenge on guard penetration to give up a layup. Another score by his man on the other end on the next possession. He tipped in a shot at the end of the half. He had 18 points on 9-12 shooting in the half. Second Half: His man blew past him for an easy layup. He hit an open jumper when they doubled Kobe off the screen. He choked a layup set up by Lin, should have had that (he wanted the foul). Wow, horrible two-man D to give up a dunk.

Johnson -- -- Thank the basketball Gods we can reduce Wes’s minutes with Nick back. Now if Scott will just commit to it. He brought Wes back to run with the second units, sliding Nick to SG and taking Clarkson’s minutes out of the equation. Uggh. Come on, Byron. Good job late in the game when Wes returned briefly at PF defensively for Boozer, he kept an offensive board alive that Hill would score on. The Stats: He scored 4 points on 2-9 shooting (0-3 from three, 0-2 from the line) to go with 1 board, 2 assists, 1 steal and no fouls in 32 minutes. He was a -3. The Action: He was fouled before an inbounds pass came for two FTs, he missed both, uggh. He choked a layup set up by Lin on a drive, come on, wasn’t even close with no pressure, sheesh (that was insanely horrible). He ball-faked and hit the pull-up wing jumper. He missed a wing three. Second Half: He was blocked on a jumper. He missed an open wing three. He cut baseline and slammed. He missed an open wing three. He missed an open wing jumper, got it back and clanked the short one in the lane. He kept an offensive board alive that Hill would score on with 17 seconds left.

Young -- “Oh, you know, it’s just like the Swag Effect. It just rubbed off on everyone,” Nick joked (Lakers now 1-0 with Nick). He said he knows he can help the team not just with his offense but keeping a good attitude out there. “You got to have fun. I do 360 layups and miss, but I keep doing it.” Nick looked like he was already in midseason form, scoring 17 on 10 shots. I love seeing Kobe and Young on the floor at the same time. I’ve been looking forward to it forever but injuries from both have prevented it. People think this is going to be a bad duo because they are ball dominant. In reality, Nick has played with ball dominant PGs and others where he isn’t the focus of the offense. They will be fine. Both of them can bail out an offense, both can get on a roll and both will make the D scramble. You could already see the trust Kobe has in Nick as he looked for him a number of times. Still, you do need to keep one of them on the floor at all times so you can have that on the floor all 48 minutes, so Scott will stagger the rotations…but Nick will probably always be in there to close the game. His D last year was pretty strong when we were still in the thick of things early in the season. He has elevated his play on that end of the floor. He did a good job on Korver tonight. This is going to be key to how successful he is as a Laker. If we aren’t garbage, he can elevate his game on that. If we are…while, like later in the season last year, I’m guessing his D will get softer. Great to have him back. The Stats: He scored 17 points on 6-10 shooting (2-4 form three, 3-5 from the line) to go with 5 boards, 1 steal and 1 foul in 28 minutes. He was a +4. The Action: He pulled up in a crowd in early offense on the wing and drew FTs on the shot, he made both. He missed the pull-up sideline three with a man on. He battled for a loose ball and came up with it on D. He spotted up and Kobe found him weakside for the swished three at the end of the corner. He attacked to his left and drained the wing pull-up jumper. He posted up and swished the Kobe baseline turnaround with a man all over him. He had 9 points in 11 minutes. Second Half: He drained a sideline three left open on the weakside when Kobe drew the D. He missed a wing jumper. He pulled up off the two-man game (transitioning out of the pindown sequence) and hit the elbow jumper. He airballed a tough three trying to beat the shotclock with a man smothering him. He drained a wing jumper when the offense desperately needed something with the Hawks on a run. He was fouled on a corner three with 44 seconds left when Kobe spotted him in the corner, he made just one FT, however.

Davis -- -- Hey, BScott. Why are we running Swaggy at PF when we need to make sure we secure a defensive rebound on a FT? Bring in Ed. Sheesh. Davis had just one foul in this game, but seemed to be a forgotten man when we were looking to get just one stop or one board down the stretch. He led the team with a +13. Offensively, he missed some easy ones around the rim he usually makes. Probably should have had double digits in this one. The Stats: He scored 6 points on 3-7 shooting (0-1 from the line) to go with 7 boards, 1 steal and 1 foul in 22 minutes. He was a +13. The Action: He swiped a bad pass under the hoop. He missed a layup in early offense (should have had that one). Lin set him up at the front of the rim with a bounce pass for an And-1. He grabbed a fumble and scored the layup. He missed a short one in the lane, but Boozer tipped it in. Second Half: He dunked when Lin got around a trap and found him cutting down the lane on a two-on-one in the halfcourt. Wow, he choked a layup on a pass put right in his lap. He forced his man into an airball with a good challenge on the perimeter. He missed in the post, but got it back.

Price -- -- With Nick back, this makes Ronnie’s life on the second unit much easier. We’ve got a shot creator and a guy we can dump the ball to in order to bail out the offense. That didn’t help Price from leading the team with 4 turnovers. Sloppy ball. He also needs to hit his FTs. He could have iced the game with 7 seconds left, but made only one FT. The Stats: He scored 2 points on 0-1 shooting from three to go with 3 boards, 5 assists, 1 steal, 4 turnovers and 3 fouls in 18 minutes. He was a +2. The Action: He missed a wide open wing three. He drew FTs on the perimeter, he made one. He hit Boozer on the two-man game for the floater. He traveled trying to create on iso. Second Half: Nice swing pass to Young for the three. He traveled, unforced error when he was getting ready to pass from the top of the arc. He attacked and kicked to Sacre for the jumper. He threw a kickout away, layup in transition. Up 2 with 7.7 seconds left, he was fouled, he made one FT.

Sacre -- -- I assume we’re going to see more minutes from Sacre with Scott needing to make a point to his bigmen about hustling in transition. Just to sit people, we’ll see him more (Damn it, Randle…and Kelly!). The Lakers set the tone early defensively in this one (despite Boozer getting torched). Sacre got a couple of stints and hit a couple of jumpers. One a rainbow, the other a turnaround. Not much else from him. The Stats: He scored 4 points on 2-4 shooting to go with 1 board, 1 assist and 3 fouls in 12 minutes. He was a -4. The Action: Didn’t hustle back and his man scored in transition. He iso’d and sank a turnaround in the middle of the paint. He got tapped on a short baseline jumper. Second Half: He swished an open baseline jumper off a kickout. Heat check from 19 feet out, brick.

Scott -- -- Boozer getting lit early (Millsap had 11 of the Hawks 13 points on Boozer before Boozer sat in that first short stint)… Young in for Wes and Davis for Boozer, Lakers up 2 midway through the first quarter… Lakers led by 6 when Lin sat for Price with 3:33 left… He sat Hill for Sacre… Lakers pushed out to a 23-15 lead with some good D… The Lakers led 31-20 after the first quarter. Finally, a strong quarter of D to start the game… He started a Sacre, Boozer, Johnson, Young, Price unit… The lead was trimmed to 5 with some more horrid D by Boozer… He sat Price for Lin up by 8… So starters back in with 6:38 left… They pushed out to a 13 point lead when Hill sat for Davis with his third foul… The Lakers led 67-52 at the half. Not a great defensive second quarter, but they still extended their lead. Lakers best scoring half of the season with 67 points. Thank you, ATL… At halftime, the coaches focused on the Lakers second quarter defense being a little too soft… An 8-0 run for the Hawks and Scott called a quick timeout. Got to start sending messages and getting ticked about the D like that… Lead down to 2 as Hawks went on a 13-0 run before we scored… Up 5, he sat Boozer for Davis… Swaggy in for Wes… Up by 5, Lin sat for Price with 2 minutes left… The Lakers led 91-83 heading into the fourth… Scott started a Sacre, Davis, Johnson, Young, Price lineup… Up 5, he brought back in Hill, Boozer, Kobe and Lin to go with Swaggy. Near wholesale change in the fourth… Up 5, the Lakers gave up a clear-path foul on a jumpball… Defensive subs sending Boozer and Lin out for Price and Johnson… But he didn’t sub a big back in to rebound on FTs and we had Swaggy as a PF and one of the bigmen trying to get a board. This led to a missed rebound and a Korver three with 7 seconds left. Not smart, coach… Some better D in this one, but the Lakers gave up 61 points between the second and third quarters...

GREAT one DB, as a Lin Fan , I was going on and on to the KOBE Haters exactly what you just post the last game. Lin would never turn on KOBE, he was talking about team defense. Thumbs up !

Great recap! Thanks DB, always a pleasure to read, especially after the wins. Tonight, I had the siblings and friends gathered around while I read this aloud. Haha, it felt like I was reading a bedtime story.

Thanks DB! I also loved when Lin screamed at Boozer

Thanks DB. Didn't catch the game tonight, but got a good sense of what happened from your write-up and some highlights. Glad the team got the win tonight, now let's beat Houston.

I think Kobe was laying into Boozer a couple times too during the game. He's just awful on defense and doesn't bother to challenge at all at the rim. No wonder Pau and Lamar destroyed him on a nightly basis.

Thx DB. Completely agree on all points.

Good
- Better effort getting back on D in transition. It helped that ATL wasn't as quick up the floor off the inbounds though.
- Nick Young showing how badly he was missed
- They actually swung the ball back to the weakside on this one and got key 3s out of it.
- Hill abusing the ATL bigs on offensive boards
- Staying at home on Korver and only letting him take 5 threes
- Lin and Kobe yelling at Boozer for his defensive breakdowns

Bad
- Offense is still pretty much just isolations and pick and rolls with no setup. There were some ugly possessions but good individual performances from several players carried the O, as well as the Hawk's ineffective strategy of always trapping the PnR ball handler.
- On D they again left 3 point shooters wide open to help on 2 point jumpers. Maybe it was by design because no one besides Korver could shoot, but it's not going to fly against most teams.
- Some breakdowns on the pick and roll D made it too easy sometimes. They were show-ing a lot more in this one, but not really clear if it helped or not overall
- Like DB said, no rebounder on the last FT. If they were worried about FT %, Sacre and Boozer shoot at least as good as Price does from the line.

Ugly
- Still not playing Ed Davis enough meaningful minutes when he's the best big man on BOTH offense and defense and leads the team in +/- by a large margin. Also, as DB noted, they played Boozer in crunchtime over him, when they really needed a defender.
- Still playing Wes Johnson major minutes when you have Swaggy P back.
- Not playing Clarkson a single minute when Wes Johnson is stinking the place up and doing things like running away from Korver and letting him shoot a wide open corner 3. I mean the dude was only shooting 60% from 3 this year.
- Wes Johnson

Thanks DB. I logged in just to say how much I appreciate you recaps. To watch games after games, whether good or bad, and then make recaps on the players and coach, is an incredible effort..

Effort was a bit better but more than anything having a NBA caliber 6th man that can average 15 ppg in Nick Young is what helped.

Been saying for a while. All the focus on O. But we've been down right respectable on that end for the type of talent we have. Yesterday was the first time we had Kobe, Young (guess he's our #2) and Boozer/Lin all together. Those were supposed to be our top 4 options.

And you saw 114 on the board.

The issue is D. It is why we went 1-9 or are 2-9. If we played even remotely solid D we'd be a 4-5 or .500 type of team.

I expect a probable loss tonight vs a very good HOU team at HOU on a B2B and some will jump on the O again. But really looking at it on a whole - the O is in the upper 15 of the league. The D is really really really bad. Even though we beat ATL I thought the D was only good that 1st half. After it was really just ATL scoring pretty easily IMO.

Great win!
Kobe was on the end of the most horrific lapses in Defense though. The pass to Sefalosha that he wasn't even aware of, and the EASY pass back to Antic for the WIDE open 3. He easily frustrated the nice offensive flow the last 6 minutes by either shooting, or solely making the scoring pass. Lin has to do a better job of NOT giving him the ball every time down the court in the 4th.

Thats how the Spurs get so good, they give every player an opportunity to succeed or fail during clutch time, so when the playoffs arrive they all have a comfort factor in many game situations. The Lakers (Kobe specifically) rarely give other players the opportunity. I hope we can adjust that. Kobe needs to throttle it down to the last 2 minutes. I think he feels he gets the whole fourth quarter.

Lin played well until the D focused on him. He gets rattled..and reverts to bad decisions...loosely dribbling, and jumping to pass.

Wes...needs spot minutes. He can't or refuses to make dribbles going toward the basket...It kills me!!

Swaggy is my favorite Laker right now. Kobe is a legend...but Swaggy brings the Joy thats so refreshing to watch...reminiscent of Magic.

Hill has been a workhorse! I like his game and fearlessness...He doesnt back down! His jumper has been off though.

Boozer needs to be benched...he D is so horrible. Everyone he guarded scored effortlessly.

Davis needs to start...and practice free throws.

Ronnie Price needs the Tyronne Lue treatment. He isn't a good backup PG...he has all the tools but it never comes together. He is quick, but goes nowhere. Weird! Marshall would be better for this team...surprisingly.

Clarkson needs to be the backup PG. I enjoy his game although he needs to work on his passing. But with Swaggy back the spacing should be better for him.

Sacre....made a nice jumpshot

Lin, Ellington, Kobe, Davis, Hill Starting 5...if they are hell bent on not starting Nick Young

First sub Swaggy for Ellington, then Boozer for Davis. Then Price for Lin and Clarkson for Kobe. Then Davis back for Hill. Then Ellington back for Price.

I should be the coach!!!

Thanks DB. Early game, I had to miss it, DB's T&R to the rescue!! I got a pretty good feel for how the game went from reading this and other posters' comments.

I've thought for the last 3 weeks that having Wes Johnson as our only 3 was a huge liability, and that Swaggy's return would change things up a lot. Good to see he's back, man.

On the minus side I'm a little dismayed that Clarkson took the hit on playing time while Wes still gets 32 minutes. Wes has had ample opportunity, we need to spend this part of the season developing Clarkson. At least make a reasonable test drive.

Also, it's interesting how Boozer can score like an all star but somehow the Lakers just suck when he's on the floor, and more often than not stop sucking and start catching up when low-scoring Davis steps out there. Shows how important defense is.

Good to hear that Lin hit his stride a little this time, and that we stuck Hill down low for putbacks. That mid-range Hill/dump it to Kobe for an impossible bailout offense just doesn't work.

More Davis, Clarkson and Swag, keep Hill down low, and a lot less Wes and Boozer. Please.
