Amazon was selling a Crucial 256 gig ssd for 90 bucks earlier this week. You may want to check if it's still available.

I saw that deal but the reviews show crucial's hardware to be much slower than other brands. Thanks for the heads up.

Theres probably so little real world difference that you wouldn't notice at all.

Yep. Go for bang/buck and reliability. No way you'd be able to tell the difference in speeds between any modern SSD. Nice to benchmark and fap to though.

Bought Assassin's Creed: Unity for $35 from Newegg and digitally. I know game's broken but at that price why not? Gonna buy Shadow of Mordor digitally for $30 too on Friday. Also pondering jumping on external HDDs for both my X1 and Wii U. 1 TB WD at $60 sounds like a good deal.

PS4 for $329.99 on Newegg's ebay is live now.
EBAY LINK

Also the Microsoft store has the $329 xbox one AC Unity/Black flag bundle + a free game of your choice. I know last I checked the new Dragon Age was an option as the free game but its not on there anymore so it might be out of stock. If you are in the market for the xbox one I would get on that one right away.

Intel 730.

Just about as rock solid as you can get:

http://slickdeals.net/f/7433432-intel-730-series-ssd-240gb-98-480gb-185-solid-state-drives-free-shipping-fry-s?v=1

It's in-store but it's an example of what you can get out there.

There are a lot of deals close to this with other brands...just decide what you need in terms of size/price/reliability etc.

Personally, Intel storage and motherboards are probably the absolute cream of the crop in terms of reliability. I'd take that 10 times out of 10 over slightly faster metrics that show up nowhere else but in metrics.

However, if going in-store isn't your cup of tea this time of the year, there's a nice deal for a 500gb Sammy Evo with Far Cry 4 for $190+tax at Newegg. This one is nuts if you're already interested in FC4.

My company switched our payroll provider about a month ago. Was supposed to get a nice fat check last night... still hasn't direct deposited to my account.

Best Buy has a Samsung 55" 4K HDtv for $899 online.

Target.com. 40% off all clothing.

Intels are definitely quality, but I've found Samsung SSD's are faster, at least on a subjective opinion of mine based off of BF4 loading, booting up, etc, and no less reliable. Not to mention you get a few extra gigs on a Samsung. Perfect for just one more HD porn file...

Either one is fine, but my personal preference has always been Samsung, especially for support and performance over time.

Depends on model. The 730 is MLC, the EVO is TLC. If you flip FC4 or plan to buy it the EVO is a better bang for the buck but the 730 in a vacuum is a better SSD. Now 840 pro on the other hand...

With that said, I'm probably going to get the EVO deal. BF couldn't come soon enough. Recently I've gotten a re-direct on my browser only when I open it after turning on my computer. I think I've gotten a little flagrant with the torrents. Bastages got me....and I'd like to think I'm obscenely meticulous about these things.

Ah, yes, forgot to mention, my current one is a 1TB 840 pro I got at a going out of business sale. But even then, the EVO vs 730 real world differences are so minute anyways that unless you're running stress tests everyday for years, you likely won't know the difference.

Nice to benchmark and (bleep) to though.

(bleep) then someone link me quick please!

You are a stud, JB. Thanks!

Which one? I just added the Evo from newegg.

The 730's are in store only. You can order for in-store pickup from Fry's.

I clicked on the slickdeals link for the 730 @ frys.com and both shipping and store pickup say "unavailable" after adding to cart.

It was $40 like a month ago on that Super Smash characters sales. Picked it up then and, by Nintendo standards, that was a great deal. Those bastards never lower the price of their games. Also picked up Tropical Freeze for $30 during that sale.
