Team 1:

Stephen Curry
Klay Thompson
Kawhi Leonard
Anthony Davis
Demarcus Cousins

Coach: Pop

Team 2:

John Wall
Demar Derozan
Jimmy Butler
LeBron James
Joakim Noah

Coach: Thibs

Could be lineups we'll see in this year's all star game. It'd be fun to see them play in a competitive series

I think as talented as these teams are, the offense won't be an issue. So I'd probably take Team 2 under Thibs.

I take team 1. Waaayyy too much to handle on offense without giving up anything on defense. Too many x factors as well. The Splash Brothers are way too difficult to contain. A great lane attacker in Leonard. Defensive monster who will erase any mistakes on defense in AD. The only person I wouldn't like is Cousins and Pop could probably hide him.

Yeah, it's not like Pop doesn't do defense either. Before they changed their identity, the Spurs were playing Chicago caliber defense for over a decade. His main guys are just 600 years old on the Spurs now so their emphasis changed out of necessity.

I couldn't decide when I get as thinking about this lol. But looking at it now I think team 1 has better shooting. Team 2 has too many streaky shooters

team 2 would have much better ball movement, on a stacked team, you often need an actual playmaker which team 1 (team 2 would be way better under pop to utilize all that passing)

Team 1. LeBron's a fantastic defender, but there's no way he could handle Cousins or Davis.

IMO, Team 1 would actually be a highly functioning team, which usually isn't the case when All-Stars are thrown together, often because the best qualities of many guys involve them dominating the ball. (I'd suspect LeBron/Wall/DeRozan wouldn't be especially complimentary for this reason) Offensively, Team 1 has pick & roll, low post abilities, and can effectively space the floor at all 5 positions while still being dominant on the glass. Both bigs are good passers, which is an underrated part of a good offense, IMO. Defensively, Davis is the best player in the game, and you have a dominant wing defender (Kawhi) and another good one. (Thompson) Cousins has improved in this area as well, although Curry's your weak link. You have a go to guy (Curry) down the stretch and a couple of guys with some serious cajones in big situations.

Team 2 is good, but Team 1 is nearly perfect.

Team 1 wins in 5 games, especially if they are running Pop's system. Team 2 might win one game on account of LeBron going off.

I don't know what team 2 would do on offense, and they definitely wouldn't be able to defend team 1, at all.

Team 1 easily. Team 2 has little to none shooting ability. Team 1 is the most balanced and has the better coach ) i thought i would see more teams. Like:

Chris Paul
Kobe (pre 2014)
Durant
LaMarcus Aldridge
Dwight Howard

coached by: Phil Jackson

Defensively it wouldnt be pretty but if they could figure it out offensively...they would be great. Of course i had some limitations due to some great players already being on the other teams

I guess the question i ask with this sort of team is "will you be productive if you only score 15 points or so" since we're thinking non all star game.

So team 1

Curry - no
Thompson - yeah
Kawhi - yeah
Davis - maybe?
Cousins - no, and he'd be a cancer

team 2

Wall - yeah
Derozan - dunno
Butler - yeah
Lebron - maybe?
Noah - yeah

team 1 is better shooters at every position bar 1, team 2 is better passers at every position, team is better defensively at every position bar 1 and team 2 is better at every position offensively bar 1, i'd think on a balance you can never have too much defense, but you can reach critical mass on offense (see Cleveland lol), maybe the shooting and talent overcomes it, team 1 has not an ounce of leadership (curry - quiet, thompson - quiet, kawhi - quiet, davis - awkward, cousins - ass hole) but it is pop so you know.

Tony Parker - quiet, Manu Ginobili - quiet, Tim Duncan - quiet, Kawhi Leonard - quiet, Noise = overrated

Why is Davis a maybe? He'd be the most productive only scoring 15 or so points.

Pop is the couch, I don't think Cousins would be a problem.

I think replacing Butler with Durant on team two would make it more interesting.

Feel free to add some more teams guys! This is a nice break from our season this year lol.

Try to use current players and coaches and construct a team to beat team 1 (seems to be the winner at the moment).

Carlisle is another choice that can go head to head with Pop.

If Lebron choked at the end, Joakim would go berzerk!

For your 2 given teams, I would go choosing team 2. Because team 2 seems to be more athletic and experienced than team 1 in my perspective. Team 1 can win 1 or 2 games, but for the 7 game series, team 2 is better.
