Farmar
Sasha
Luke
Lamar
Turiaf

vs.

Lin
Kobe
Wes
Boozer
Hill

God I miss that bench. Sasha played like mini-Ray Allen. Turiaf had heart. Lamar was Lamar but he guided them well. Farmar had an ego but he changed the pace of the game. Luke was the glue that held them together. I think I'd take them over our current starters, easily.

Lamar was still a starter in 07-08, Pau and Drew never played together that year.

Yeah but he led the bench too. He played a ton of minutes during our championship years.

Our starters would beat them still. Wouldn't be a blow out though

I would pay to see this. Sasha full court pressing the Mamba is worth admission alone.

Lamar would kill Boozer. Famar would run wild with Kobe or Lin trying to keep up. Doubles would lead to Machine for 3. Hill and Wes are definitely better than Turiaf and Luke though.

I say the bench mob wins, especially if PJax coaches.

Current starters win at every position except PF.

I agree, but I think chemistry puts team 2008 over the top. Sasha gave prime Kobe fits in practice, I'd imagine he'd go for a ton of points with current Kobe guarding him. He was automatic that year.

This is also a factor I considered. The bench mob would be running the sets they had under Phil, our starters run what they run w/ Byron.

I'd take Luke over Wes too. Luke was the ultimate team glue guy. People just remember when he was hurt and on the bench, but when he was healthy he was a very good player. One of the highest IQ guys in the game at the time.

The team with Kobe wins and it's not even close.

Our current team wins, but LO goes for 25/10/8 or something really balanced like that on Boozer.

Boozer and Hill are both defensive sieves. LO often had crazy games like that against poor defenses, I'd even say he could go for 30 or 40 since he'd be the number one option.

Kobe will get his but 08 Sasha would too against old Kobe's defense. Given 36 minutes The Machine could easily score 20...that would negate Kobe's production unless he goes off for ~40.

These starters (and team) are better than the 2005-2006 team and playing much, much worse.
