Flip Saunders has repeatedly said that his team isn't tanking. They won't make the playoffs either but unlike the current Lakers, their future pieces are pretty much all set in place. They want to breed a winning culture and tanking isn't a way for them to do so (Rubio, Wiggins, Bennett, Dieng, Lavine going forward).

Wow! Just looked it up and their team salary is almost $71 million. Whatever they manage to shave off of that this summer will be mostly replaced by Rubio's extension. I can see why they'd want another lottery pick.

They have young talent but the sad this is it will never all develop there. They don't have enough vet leadership to bring them along. When has a team with that many young guys ever stayed together and been worth anything?

If I were them this entire season would be a tryout. At the end of the year I'd evaluate who I think will be best and ship off 1 or 2 young pieces for QUALITY veteran contributions.

There's no way Wiggins, Lavine, Bennet, and Dieng can all develop at the same time.

They are probably willing to shop pek, Martin, brewer, et al for pennies on the dollar.

Won't net them anything. They need to give up at least one of the young guns

I think Pek and Martin would be difficult to move because of their salaries, but they could definitely get something for Brewer. It doesn't really matter if it is late first or early second round pick, the point is that they need to tank.

Even after our horrible start, I've never really thought of this team as a bottom five team. Just a horrible schedule to start made us look worse than we actually are. But if we lose to the Wolves today, I'll have to rethink things. This really should be our first really easy win of the season.

There's no point to minny tanking anymore. They have plenty of young talent on cheap deals.

Some of the young talent will pan out, some will not. I suspect most of their young talent will be in the latter case. They'll look to dump sometime before the All Star break.

Rubio, Pek and Martin all out tonight to injury. Mo Williams a certified Laker killer is questionable due to illness.

Tank Wars or not, we should be able to pull a W tonight but who knows with our current Lakers team.

Agreed but I'm only "cautiously optimistic."

I refuse to bet money against the lakers so tonight is a rare chance to win money on my team: -5.5 spread should I do it?

Mo Williams didn't look it because of the pink eye, but he said he feels fine enough to play - or at least try to play tonight vs Lakers

Mo is playing. hopefully its a throwback game for him
