Forget the stats. What did we see there at the end of the game? How many times did Duncan (and the other Spurs) whine to the refs about those out of bounds calls? That happens ALL THE TIME to the Lakers and they don't do that (see the Finals vs. the Celtics).
But we know...Duncan is a great player, but also has always had this reputation of needing a little help from the refs to really be who he is. He sucked in the Olympics, I mean, let's just be honest about it. And he was complaining the whole time because he was not getting the treatment he got in the NBA. And he swore he would never play international ball again, that's how badly he needs that kind of officiating.
I also caught the announcers complimenting Duncan on his "patented move" at the end of the game there...which is using his off arm to shove the defender's face away while he shoots the ball. Very nice. |

Yeah, one of the reasons he is one of the greatest of their generation and of all time. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Refs made the wrong call on 2 of the 3 calls though. |
