He's utterly one dimensional. He has basically no upside. Maybe if we were a contender he'd be nice to have on the bench, but right now he's doing nothing for us. _________________ You are either in or on your way to the NBA Finals. |

So he's pretty much our Jodie now before he learned to drive to the basket but shooting a higher percentage. |

When your team is bad you have to stay positive and find something good to point out about the current situation. Note the players that, at least, are playing to the best of their ability no matter how good or limited their skill-set may be. Of course he's a one-year rental & everything you said he was. He has no upside but he's not on the most talented team in the league either. However he's giving a decent effort under difficult conditions. |

He plays D and is a good catch and shoot player. He's limited but more than one-dimensional. |

He is hitting the 3 and that is a skill every team needs. But sure, we could replace him on the roster with someone like Earl Clark who isn't good enough to play in the NBA. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Ellington leads the team in +/-, and is shooting 47%, 41% from 3.
What more could you ask for from a min contract player. |

Wayne is a nice solid player. Wouldn't mind bringing him back next year on a comparable contract. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I think Wayne should play 10-minutes a game more and Kobe 10-minutes a game less. |

Ellington has been playing well. I wish BS would find more minutes for him. You can always use another shooter on the floor.
Give Kobe more rest and give Ellington more minutes. |

You sure would not have thought so earlier this year with all the overwhelming negatively expressed on this board about him.... _________________ Rule = win titles

Really nice interview that will be in the February 2015 Issue of the Inside Carolina Magazine.
Quote: | Ellington has had success as a reserve contributor in his first season in Los Angeles -- and fifth pro season overall -- but is coping with the devastating loss of his father last month. Wayne Sr. was murdered in their native Philadelphia, and Ellington took a leave of absence from the team to return home.
He has found the support and confidence he's needed with the Lakers, being reunited with veteran NBA head coach Byron Scott, who had previously coached him in Cleveland, and teaming back up another fellow Tar Heel in Ed Davis.
