If there's anything we've learned about the Lakers the last couple years, it's that they tend to win some games that no one gives them a shot in. I wouldn't count out the possibility of a few flukey wins against the Clippers or Cavs or someone. |

We need to start giving Kobe games off and move players who have any marginal value to a team, players worth second round or late first pick like Hill....we improve our tanking capability and perhaps pick up some future assets if we swing a trade, also if we get some of the young guys out there we can give them more development time. It feels like right now we are on the road to injuring our named player and muddling around just outside of where we need to be, really if we are hovering around the 6th to 7th pick that says it all we should be working our way down the standings because even best case scenario we aren't moving up in the standings to any spot that's relevant |

True, but it also happens that their best players have been injured as well, giving the Lakers an unexpected W. |

If we are able to sign a good free agent this summer, we will not be.
However, with Kobe still here next year we will be in a worse situation. We will still not be a playoff team but we will be caught in mediocrity.
Stupidest contract ever handed out. |

Doubt it...
If they can get keep that draft pick from the Suns, and pick up a free agent or two, doesn't have to be a superstar, they can improve from this crappy record they are currently on this year. Doesn't mean they will make the playoffs, but they will slowly rise from the abyss they are currently in. |

We should sign josh smith to help with the tank.
I think he'll try to go to a contender though. |

It probably would. We seriously need to consider trading Kobe, Nick Young, Jeremy Lin, Jordan Hill and Ed Davis.
What good is it going to do us to have Kobe around next year? All it will do is restrict our free agent signings this summer.
I wish the front office would sit down with him to see if he would accept a trade to another team. |
Can't see any viable options.
His play and contract right now is cancerous to any contending team.
His play is also cancerous to young teams, which will hurt our own tank. |
Would New York consider Kobe or do they get to keep their lotto pick? I think Kobe could help them in the triangle and him and Melo still have time to sneak into the playoffs out east, however, if New York can keep their pick, they may see no use in trying.
They do have a lot invested in the triangle right now though. Kobe would only help that team. |
If it happened in the beginning of the season, I'd agree that Kobe would help the Knicks. But with melo unhealthy for the rest of the season and the locker room divided, mainly because of the triangle+fisher, I can't see Kobe being a positive influence. His current play would be beneficial to their tank imo.
Also our team has shown/pulled off some interesting things when it wasn't playing Kobe ball. I fear there might be an "addition by subtraction" moment, which could jeopardize our tank. If we trade Kobe, it's imperative Lin, young, boozer and hill leave with him as well. | kobe isn't going anywhere. he prides himself on the fact he will play for only 1 team and retire a laker. not sure why people keep bringing it up about him being traded. |

Most of us know. Some people feel he shouldn't go out playing on a bad team.
Personally, I'd keep Kobe if he plays like this because it helps the tank. |

Only if we're not bad enough this year to secure our top-5 pick. that's why the tank must roll. _________________ Jerry Buss made the Lakers into the crown jewel of the NBA. |

Charlotte just had a tough schedule, didn't expect them to be near the bottom 5. Neither do I think Utah will, too much young talent not to win at least 30 games. |

Now that Smith is gone, the Pistons will start winning too. We'll be battling Minny for the 3rd spot most of the year, 4th spot at worst. |
