Lin keeps looking at the coach. Coach didn't want to foul. Scott already said he wanted to run the clock down to 10 seconds. Lin was put in a situation of a rock and a hard place. The rock being Scott and hard place being Kobe. Listen to coach and Kobe gets pissed and wants you benched. Listen to Kobe and coach gets pissed and Lin gets benched.

From the post game interview Lin said didn't even hear kobe yelling to foul.

Maybe not on purpose, but really difficult situation.
