I would consider this a very successful season if we ended up drafting okafor and levert.
I'd be running around the neighborhood naked and shouting with joy if that happened.
Lol half of laker nation would. It's definitely possible with this injury of his. I have a feeling that okafor is destined to be a Knick though and stanley Johnson is destined to become a laker.

I think D'Angelo Russell is going to be a star, perfect combo guard for the NBA. Scouts said similar things about Curry entering the draft, he has good enough speed and athleticism for the next level. Russell is a legit 6'5 PG, great shooter, passer, and he's a solid defender as well with his 6'9 wingspan. Has all the skills to be a 20+ ppg 8apg PG in the league. Towns, Okafor, Stanley are my top 3 but Russell has moved up into my top 5.

There are 3 bigs worth getting. If someone above the Lakers falls in love with Mudiay, top 4 is all we would need to get a big. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

I really can't see mudiay falling outside of the top 3 so it's possible. I think we need to wait until combines to judge mudiay. If he proves to have elite level athleticism he goes #2. If he chooses not to participate in the combine he's dropping like a rock.

I just finished watching some of his game highlights from the past few weeks.
This kid looks nice.
I hate just going by YouTube clips, but he looks way better than Mudiay. _________________ Everything. Changes.

At #25 going with DX mock:
Tyus Jones
RJ Hunter
Tyrone Wallace
George Lucus (Project PG, all the physical tools)
Norman Powell
There are a lot of triple threat big combo guards out there in this draft; D'Angelo Russell, Caris Levert, Jerian Grant, Tyrone Wallace, George Lucus, Delon Wright, etc.
If the Lakers establish a duo big backcourt alongside Clarkson, or possibly a big three-guard rotation for the Lakers with that glute of skills, the Lakers could be headed for a big advantage in the league with a "dual PG" setup while being completely versatile defensively and adding depth.
Based on DX mock...
Any combination of:
Okafor, Towns, Russell, WCS
Then
Levert, Grant, Wallace, Lucus
Then
Kris Dunn, Ron Baker, Norman Powell, Marcus Paige
Then
Moussa Diagne, Kaleb Tarzewski, AJ Hammons
the Lakers come out with absolute robbery.
A Levert, Clarkson future backcourt with Okafor, Towns, or WCS in the paint?
Then there's capspace?
Yeah, that'd be enticing to future FAs. Clarkson, Levert, WCS alone add so much athleticism and backcourt size... it becomes a transition team that can compete.
Add that next to Randle. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
My two favorite prospects that DX has at #20 or later are Tyus Jones and Jerian Grant, by FAR. Frankly, I'll be pleasantly surprised if either are around by the time we pick though.

I can see Grant gone by then, Tyus in the early 20s. I think Houston's pick will be in the 24-25 range.
I'd be willing to gamble on Levert. Yes, foot problems, but hopefully he can get over that, get a lottery level player. Worth the risk IMO. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Yup. Those are about the only two PG prospects I like were Grant and Jones and it looks like we'll miss out on them. which absolutely sucks. I wanted Grant more than Tyus, though; that sucks...

Tyrone Wallace, George Lucus, Kris Dunn... even if Levert and Grant are missed, they are strong prospects.
Dunn is the most polished with good hoop IQ. Wallace is the most versatile. Lucus is a 6'5" Pg with a 7'1" wingspan and lateral quicks. All the upside, needs all the training. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
I really like George Lucas. see him as a ball dominant SG. He's really got a nice handle. Also good slashing instincts, finding lanes, saw a nice euro step. Like the mechanics on his jumper. Thick body, 7'1 wingspan, 6'5.
uh, i really like him.
It's probably a bad thing to do, but i can get hung up on comparisons. This kid projects in the Harden mold

I've only seen the video on draft express but his lack of athleticism is concerning. I agree that he projects as a shooting guard at the next level also but I'm not sure he will ever be starting material. I don't see him going in the first round.

he throws some dunks down in this video.
he's def still developing athletically. but i don't see his quickness ever being NBA PG level. SG to me
