Convertible was available, but it's super rare. It's even rarer to find it in any kind of good condition now.

As for Kia/Hyundai, the Optima Turbo doesn't match the looks with performance.

The Accord is a family sedan, yet its really fun to drive. The Mazda6 is a family sedan as well, and its tops in its segment for driving dynamics. The Optima, at least the top version, has the looks, but falls down on the road.

I'd go das German for family sedan. My pops still has his Benz e320 when we were kids. The thing is a tank and it refuses to die

Great dynamics in its class is far different than just plain, great dynamics.

In terms of midsize cars, it's the Mazda 6 and Accord, easily.

And also, the Accord is the only one that offers a Coupe in the segment as well . I wish the Mazda6 had a higher powered engine (the 4 cylinder kinda falls flat after 5000 rpm or so ).

That's SkyActiv tech for you.

I'm still waiting for Mazda to have US legal version of the SkyActiv Diesel for the Mazda 6.

It doesn't really make sense.

1. All the torque is at the bottom for electric.
2. Almost all the torque for diesel as at the bottom.
3. Leaves nothing for top end.

Petrol engines, even in 3-cylinder configurations, are better for top end.

Trains are diesel hybrid right? They hold a ton of torque?
