is it just me or the talent level has dropped tremendously? the league used to have so many NBA teams and I think the other leagues in Las Vegas & Utah have really gotten much more competitive.

Very sad. I used to stay to watch a few other NBA teams or come a little early. The quality is definitely getting watered down.

The Long Beach SPL is dying. And it's very sad, because they are the league with the most tradition. All the teams are now moving to Las Vegas. I expect only 2 teams next year at Long Beach, because GM's go to SPL to look at players! They will hate it this year.

Does anyone know if the Laker games at the SPL will be on the radio 1540 or 570? It is too far for me to go to the games being up in Portland, but, I could listen at least. Or, might anyone know of a site to watch the games?

Sad indeed. Outside of the 15th there aren't any days with more than one NBA game scheduled.

Last season, there was someone who brought along his computer to describe the play-by-play.

Yup, that was me! Unfortunately, I can't justify volunteering to do the play by play this year. I'm currently out of work and doing some re-training. With gas prices being well over $3/gallon it would be hard to do my 80+ mile (one way) commute to get there (I would be commuting from Hemet).

Hopefully there is someone closer to LB who might be able to do this.

I'm sorry to hear about your work situation, but I was wondering what happened to you. I'm glad your still around, even if you can't do our play by plays. I hope someone else can step up so you can enjoy what you did for us!

Thanks for your kind thoughts! I have been inactively reading this site frequently but not posting. Guess I needed to chill out a bit. However this time of the year is always good for discussing the team makeup so I will most likely show my face a little more.

Makes no sense why the local sports radio stations wouldn't broadcast the games. I'm certain many Laker fans would listen and/or stream the broadcast.

I'm thinking about going on Wednesday, how busy dos it get? I went a few years ago when Madsen was playing and it was very light on people, was kinda refreshing. Should I get my tickets now?

A Wednesday afternoon game shouldn't be as busy as the 1st weekend was. You should be fine getting tickets at the gate but, personally, I would get there at least a couple hours before the Laker game to be safe and to get a better seat.

I want to go and take my two year old, but he'll get impatient unless we can walk in and out of the arena some.

Thanks in advance

Not only that, the Dallas team is their B team. That partially explains the blow out on Sunday.

I fear for next year.
