A nice troll clickbait article. It's just now that mixed people (who are half white and something else) are consistently getting lead roles in Hollywood (and I mean on shows that aren't trying to cater to a certain minority). It will be another few decades before people of color are assuming traditional leading man roles on a regular basis.
The best example of how little we've achieved in regard to race on TV would in my mind be Doctor Who (perhaps my favorite or close to favorite show). Despite being a show with super liberal concepts and having a very open-minded fan base, there's always a HUGE backlash when somebody even so much as suggests that an ethnic person assumes the role of the Doctor. It's just drilled into people's minds that white = lead.
