I think he's worth it in the same way Pau Gasol was worth it. You just need to add the #1 guy.
Gasol led the Grizzlies to 3 playoff appearances. That's why he was a legit number 2.
Love isn't in that class. He only is comparable to Pau now because Pau has declined. And the comparison isn't too close. Even past his prime, Pau started on the East all star team.
Pau is the only player to make the all-star team for 3 different organizations since....I don't know.
The media always creates these kinds of stories, so they can ask the players, who then shut it down.
Media didn't need to create anything. It's pretty apparent .. heck some fans like myself mentioned this months ago. _________________ #11/08/16 America became GREAT again

Tough one, I guess we take the risk but love has shown what he really is on this Cav team. Look at Kyrie, he's out there doing his thing despite LeBron.
Russell Westbrook
Kobe Bryant
Justise Winslow
Julius Randle
Marc Gasol
Take Kobe out and add a 3pt threat
Kobes contract needs to expire for this to even happen. Unless we sign him cheap but I don't see the point, him and WB don't work. I also see DeAndre Jordan and not Marc. He ain't leaving.. Would be nice to sign DJ then Danny Green and get WB next season

Westbrook wants to be here, so all we need to do is wait. And put together a team that he would want to join.
Westbrook
D. Green
Carroll
Randle
Towns/Okafor/WCS
A team like that should be able to compete and let Westbrook be the top offensive option.
You've followed the Lakers long enough. Do you think they will really go the dgreen/Carroll route this summer? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
This is like 3 whole years away.
I'd focus on developing Randle, making a great top 4-5 pick and trying to sign a free agent this summer who would be an asset both on the court or as trade bait down the road.
Understand that Westbrook will be 28-29 by that time.
his entire game is based around his athleticism and the multiple knee surgeries mean it will start fading sooner rather than later. So how much of what he is now do you expect him to be that year? Because if it's what he's showing right now you'll be disappointed by then.

Ray Allen? Shaq? Iverson?
Good company. Wouldn't put Love in that class. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

Just because Westbrook hasn't won with Durant doesn't mean he wants to play with a less talented team. If I've learned anything from this AAU generation of NBA stars. They like to team up.
The best route to getting Westbrook is having another all star here. And as of this season, Love isn't an all star.
Even if Love came here and had a resurgence that rivaled his years in Minnesota. Chance's are, he won't be the best number 2 option (to pair with Westbrook) on a roster with cap space in 2017. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

People seem to overlook this. He would need to add a lot to his game the next 2 years or discover some new medical technology to keep playing the way he does at the level he does much beyond the next 2-3 years.

Agreed. Although I do think he is the best player in the game right now, he will start to fade as he loses half a step. It's not like he has great footwork or a post game. He just dominates due to force of will, court vision and athleticism. _________________ “It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”

To be fair, he wasn't much of a shooter coming into the league but now he has a killer mid-range game and serviceable 3 point shot. It's clear he puts in the time and work. He will have to adapt his game to his body. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
