I understand his parameter. RPM is one of the better metrics for measuring offensive contribution and defensive contribution, individually, and as a total for both.

Very quickly off the top of my head, this list seems to be about right. Maybe Klay has an argument for the 2 spot. Pretty good list though.

I would ditch the traditional | PG - SG - SF - PF - C | paradigm and shift to something more like the | 2 backcourt - 3 front court | model ...

Chris Paul
Russell Westbrook

(Honorable Mention: John Wall, Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler)

Kawhi Leonard
LeBron James
Anthony Davis

(Honorable Mention: Tim Duncan, Andre Drummond, Dwight Howard)

That's the only answer. Lebron's in there when he wants to be but he hasn't consistently played high level defense this year.

RPM has Harden and Curry as the best two way players? Are you trying to make a case against RPM?

RPM is a good measure, but only one of many. The theory is sound, but not knowing how much shaping occurs due to the regressions measures, I can't say for certain. To be honest, I just happened to have that opened and went with that.

When I think of a two-way player, I think of the sum of their offensive production plus the sum of their defensive production. Win Shares is another good measure but it rewards players on winning teams and is accumulative which punishes a player who might miss games. 82games net production is another (kind of a PER offensive and a PER defensive rating) but since they no longer have a composite listing of the best players, I was too lazy to look up each player.
