Wow. I wonder if this improves the chances of OKC trading Westbrook or Durant.
Scott Brooks is their Del Harris.
I wouldn't mind chasing after Brooks at this point, but I also think there's no way our organization would do it after Byron's 1st year.
Brooks knows how to guide a building team, and Westbrook speaks highly of him.
Just imagine...
Hell no. The dude isn't an improvement over Byron.
Have you watched OKC play? Their offense is a train wreck. It's all isolation for Westbrook or Durant and it's been proven time and time again that's not how you win basketball games or championships. You need some semblance of an offensive system which Brooks does not have.

It's the same superficial look at a guy's resume that applies to both. "He went to the Finals". Game tape shows both to be morons of the highest order.

Scott Brooks iso ball with Nick Young and Old Man Kobe.
It's not Scott Brooks' fault Durant is injured. Had Durant been playing I'm sure he would still have his job.
And Ibaka is injured, Westbrook has been banged up and they gave away Reggie Jackson and James Harden for essentially nothing.
That said, I don't think Brooks did enough with the talent he had in the playoffs, they needed to win a title or at least get to more than one finals with two of the top five guys in the league on the team. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny
Concur. It is his, however, his fault he's a miserable coach.

I would not presume that at all. For whatever reason, Presti, who by all accounts is very intelligent, seemingly had a blind spot for Brooks. Brooks' insistence on playing Kendrick Perkins the amount he did, when the team was far better without Perkins on the floor, is an easy example of his lack of coaching acumen. Brooks should count his lucky stars that he had KD, RW, Ibaka, and Harden.
I don't have a reverse crystal ball, but I would imagine that if Brooks didn't have all the talent he did at his disposal, e.g., if he been coaching a bad or average team (talent-wise), his tenure would have been much briefer. When it comes to re-tread coaching hires, nothing surprises me anymore (there are already rumors that he's a front runner for the coaching positions at Denver and Orlando - poorly run franchises) but he has no business being a head coach, in my opinion.
From Sam Amick:
"Gregg Popovich on Scott Brooks being fired: 'He won't have to wait very long to be a coach again in this league. He's a quality guy.'"
Note, not a "quality coach," just a "quality guy." My mailman is a quality guy. Doesn't mean I'd want him coaching the Lakers. Pop's no fool. He's, in my estimation, trolling. I would guess that Pop would enjoy coaching against Brooks in the future.

The same guy that gave up Harden and Green for trash?
right decision by Thunders. Brooks has always been an overrated HC, winning game purely on talents. his offense set is only consists of Durant or Westbrook taking turns of pick 'n rolls at top of the key.
Dammit why couldn't they have done this a year ago so we could've went after him
Saved us the trouble of firing him. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

Brooks had great talent and could not win, except this year he had poor talent and of course could not win. It proves that coaching is overrated, except if your name is Pop. _________________ .....

I have a feeling Clay Bennett is going to go deep pockets to lure Kevin Ollie away for Uconn. Durant, Westbrook and Harden, who's no longer with the team, played with and respect him. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Wait, what? How does that prove coaching is overrated? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
