why is this thread still open? close this ish

Honestly now this thread serves no purpose other than confirming what most of us already know for a long time.

Mods, LOCK THIS THREAD UP PLEASE!

Why? He's still a free agent, still a possibility for the Lakers and nothing has been decided.

Don't lock!

He's not on the freaking Lakers. If he does become one, than open it back up.

The fact this thread was made in the first place is a joke. He's not a Laker now nor has he ever been. Their should never be an official player thread for non Lakers.

Agreed. I dang near had a heart attack when I saw "Official Rajon Rondo Thread" in the lounge lol.

He should be discussed in the FA thread. And he should only be mentioned in reference to how much we would dislike him being on the Lakers lol

The guy has a history of not getting along with teammates and coaches going back to high school. I've followed Kentucky basketball for years and am of the understanding from people close to the team that Rondo wasn't too much liked by his teammates at UK due to being bossy and having a general pissy attitude. In Boston he had a team led by HOF veterans and a strong-willed player's coach in Doc Rivers who were able to manage him... don't see Byron Scott and Kobe doing the same LOL.

Kobe and Rondo may get along now but would be willing to bet money they'll end up butting heads and hating each other pretty quickly if Rondo ever signed here...

I just don't see it ending well if we get him. The Mavs had a more stable situation with a championship coach and stable ownership. If he comes to this team while our team is in a period of transition, who knows how bad it could get.

What happens if Kobe (God forbid) gets hurt again. And Rondo is left to his own devices on a team that is lottery bound again. What's his motivation?

The Mavs and Rondo parted ways after game 2 of the play-offs and elected not to give him play-off $. What else do some of you supporters of this scum bag need to realize that this clown is an overrated, never been able to shoot, scum bag.

I'm kind of upset Mark Cuban didn't give up more assets for Rondo. Sure he took a gamble and lost, but it was more of a low risk-high reward thing. Lucky Cuban. And to think the Celts wanted Randle from us...

The only reason to take Rondo is it'll help the Lakers tank in '16.

He gave up two promising young assets and a pick for Rondo, which devastated his team, killed their chemistry, and propelled the former lottery bound Celtics to the playoffs. It obviously wasn't low risk, and the reward was questionable, as a review of the many reservations about Rondo posted on this board before the trade would show. Rondo has been massively injury prone and in a huge decline for years.

That's not true. Maybe a lot on this website, but in the real world, wouldn't mind him.

This is the perfect reason to sign Rondo. If he works out we could be very good. If not he could lead us to one of the worst records next year and we get to keep our pick again! Win-win right!?!

Rondo's greatest asset was his defense and now that's gone. He shot 45% from the free throw line last season and that was GOOD for him. He has no perimeter or midrange game and ge has a bad attitude to boot.

Besides that, I don't want him disrupting Jordan Clarkson's growth.

Actually, it's true. Go look @ other Laker fan forums who also don't want rondo. One example shows the realgm lakers forum alone has about 73% of Laker fans who do not want to see him in a Lakers uniform. Like I said, a lot of us don't want him, but what Yinoma2001 suggested is most likely to happen- hopefully after the Lakers have exhausted ALL other options...

If Colin said it would happen then we can be pretty sure it won't.

Hopefully! At the same time we don't know if his source is legit or not, so we'll have to take it with a grain of salt and just hope his source(s) is wrong.

Rondo voted out of his playoff shares by his teammates. Piriah. Rondo may nave to take a one year room exception.

What are the odds he's in the league next year? I'm saying 40/60 that he gets a vets min 1 year deal

He even tweeted that the plan is to go back to China:

“@nataly7979: @RajonRondo did u like in China ?” Yes and can't wait to go back next summer

Joking aside, I hope he can turn it around and play for us next year.

Rajon Rondo and Kings Have Mutual Interest On One-Year Deal

The Sacramento Kings and Rajon Rondo have mutual interest in free agency with Rondo open to a potential one-year deal.

Rondo could attempt to rebuild his value around the league and become a free agent again in 2016 when the cap increases.

The Kings are motivated to create more cap space.

Rondo had a frustrating tenure with the Dallas Mavericks.
