Said it on ESPN 710.... the #2 pick just got a lot more interesting as long as he's not saying it for attention.

Why do you continue to believe everything you hear/read? Just think about it. They just hired a new coach, does it even make sense for them to trade Durant before giving that team a real shot?

Why trade the #2 when we can just get him in free agency?

Clarkson, Randle, Durant, Kobe, Okafor >>>> Just Durant, Kobe, and Clarkson.

I'm pretty sure OKC would want Randle and Okafor.

You bring up a solid point, however getting quality future assets could make Donovans transition to the NBA a lot more easier and gives him a more chance to get used to the NBA landscape.... I can see Ireland being right about this rumor....

Again it makes no sense. Plus, how would John Ireland out of everyone have the scoop? Please think about it.

Even if true (which I doubt), Lakers shouldn't touch him. Not because of the injuries, but from a negotiations perspective we have the upper hand. Want to avoid a Dwightmare no.2. If he wants the Lakers he'll do the same as Lebron and wait for free agency to sign for a team.

Exactly.

Unless they want Nick Young and Jordan Hill for him.

They'd package Westbrook and Ibaka before they moved Durant.

I was listening and for what its worth, he was just coming up with scenarios for KD... basically that OKC will try to extend him now, but if KD wants to wait for bigger cap contract, they might try to move him to avoid the risk of losing him for nothing. Also, it didn't sound like Ireland really thought that this was going to happen. His point was that right now, because of draft picks, a couple good young players, and cap room (and this being LA), then IF KD or other soon to be FA are on the trade market, the Lakers can be in the conversation. He made the same point about if Boogie really insists he won't resign up there.

Listened, too, that's exactly what happened.

OKC is not going to trade Durant. They are still getting slammed for trading Harden.

good, we don't want him. if he comes back healthy (big if, i read somewhere the foot injury he had was the same one forced Yao retired early), he's gonna be 2nd option now in OKC behind Westbrook. and the dude is 27 years old, i would not give up any high draft pick for him.

They got slammed on the Harden trade for the haul they received not the trade. The rumor mill has already started with Blake Griffin for Durant rumors.

Even if OKC offered to move him for #2, I don't want to get risk getting Dwighted.
