I thought SA vs DET was very underrated finals series.

If you did not think this was a good finals, you are apart of this era that runs the score up.

The defense in that series was amazing, very old school style of ball. Alot of veterans on both sides, I was entertained.

Not a diss on the new style, I understand times change, and thats not to say teams won't face off like this in the near future.

SA vs MIA part 1, LAL vs BOS part 2, SA vs DET were the best finals of recent memory. Of course they all went to game 7.

Define old school.

Wilt's era during the 1960s was the fastest of all time.

How about those 80s Lakers teams?

If anything, the slow drag it out era that was ushered in by the Detroit teams of the late 80's and progressively got slower through the mid-2000s was an aberration compared to the history of the league.

The first 4 games were blow-outs wins by the home team. But the following 3 were pretty epic. Props for DET for winning Game 6 after that brainfart of Rasheed Wallace.

Detroit was one game away from repeating. That was an all-time great team.

One game away but Chauncey was a no-show in Game 7.

Honestly, I thought it was boring, not particularly well played, and not fun to watch. A matchup of two defensive teams is going to be like that. It's much better when you have a great offensive team against a great defensive team. Contrasts make for fun series.

I realize that some people like to think that there is something virtuous about defensive teams, but there really isn't. The truly great teams get it done on both ends.

All I know is that San Antonio won. Didn't watch a minute of it. Barely anyone watched.

And this happened when the Spurs were considered boring and before Pop suddenly became the greatest coach of all time.

One quarter. I think it was tied going into the fourth.

The only exciting part was the Horry stuff. And that was just residue from his Laker magic, it hadn't quite worn off yet.
