This is a bit late in coming, but I thought it would be a shame not to have a thread on the 2015 World Series Champions
The Hamilton fiasco seems to have finally moved into the background, the starting pitching has been solid, the offense has struggled, the bullpen has been okay and the overall record is decent (division is still winnable; in the WC mix).
If the offense can find its groove, this team can go on a run. |

The Angels need to trade for a bat, and Ben Revere isn't that bat.
The problem is that they don't really have anything good to trade.
Matt Joyce and Albert Pujols need to get their heads out of their asses, and quickly. This pitching isn't going to hold up forever. _________________ ...in my opinion. |

I knew the Astros being in the division was going to hurt the other teams in the division eventually. People didn't mind when they were horrible, but they weren't going to always be that bad. |

Yeah, they were collecting good prospects while they sucked, so it was eventually going to happen. |

The only issue I have with the Halos this season is that more than half of the lineup are batting well below .250.
Sure, Pujols and Freese can contribute... but they're inconsistent as hell. They *can* be clutch at times, but it feels like most of the time, you can't rely on that. Trout can't do it alone.
But as long as our pitching holds up (or get better), then we'll be fine. _________________

Hamilton never fit in as an Angel so I'm not surprised he is playing much better. |

The media is overreacting to Hamilton. Even last year I thought there were moments when he was turning the corner. And even if he does much better in Texas, that doesn't mean he would have succeeded in Anaheim.
I just looked it up and Hamilton has 22 at-bats. Judging a player on 22 at-bats during the regular season? And in the month of May? Are you kidding me?! |

So Hamilton plays 7 games and today he sits out with an injury. The Rangers haven't made it clear what the injury is.
If anyone was patient with Hamilton it was Scoscia so I'm not buying that this is a great success story after 1 week of baseball. |

Who says it has to be a great success story? |

I'm not sure what you mean. I'm just annoyed with the media acting like this guy is having a great season. It's only been 22 at-bats. Give this guy a couple hundred at-bats at least (and even that's not a great sample size). |

Well, that's the sports media (or just news media in general,) overreact to everything. |

I wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton did do well with the Rangers, judging by his splits, Angels stadium was a big hindrance for him. |

Hamilton is out 4 weeks with a hamstring injury. Good riddance.

Recently the media has criticized the Angels for not playing him and increasing his value before trading him. Personally, I'd trade him away for used toilet paper if I could. He was the Royals MVP of the Angels-Royals first round series last year. |

A friend of mine from the cigar shop is a Yankee fan from New York. He knows that I hate the Yankees. Typical exchange: "Who are the Yankees playing tonight?" "Toronto." "Go Blue Jays."
So last night he tells me that the Yankees will finally be my second favorite team for the weekend, because they're playing the Angels. "Nope. The 'Stros can fend for themselves over the weekend. Go Angels." |

I always thought "Astros" was a goofy name, albeit an improvement over "Colt 45s." Back in the day, the uniforms were often downright embarrassing and the exploding scoreboard was like a caricature of redneck Americana. Somewhere along the line, they became the 'Stros in popular usual around here. I think it was a subconscious attempt to make them sound a little less uncool. |
