Just saw it and I have to agree, best action movie of the summer. Packed with action in a point a to point b type story but it was done really well. It had good emotional moments throughout and you really were rooting for the heroes. Glad that mostly everyone had their redemption moment to.

It reminded me of Doomsday a bit just with the car chases and over-the-top action but better because Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron are badasses and the girls in white were nice to look at.

Spoiler

Yeah, Charlize was the main star. I hoped for a better ending, it was building to a big climatic ending and they just show up and that was it. I was hoping they drive the truck thru a blockade or something spectacular.

Wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, but still a visual masterpiece. It has a budget of 150 plus over 50m in marketing, so it has to generate porbably 300M in revenue worldwide to break even. Hope it does. The next sequel will be Mad Max Wasteland.

Yep, he is a tormented loner. But always does what's right in the end.

Great action and cinematography but the story and characters were lacking. I've never seen the other Mad Max movies so maybe I'm missing a lot of the back story but it seemed like it needed more story and higher stakes. The main bad guy and his team of soldiers just never seemed that menacing or much of a threat. I never felt like the war rig was in any real danger. It's a great thrill ride for a summer action blockbuster though.

Visually and entertainment value: 8.5/10
Story: 6/10
Overall: 7/10

I'm just leaving the movie theater after watching it. It's the only time where I've wanted to rebuy a ticket and watch it again as I'm getting out of my seat.

(bleep) that was fun.

Fug, someone from my gen giving it a thumbs up too Dladi...

I know Los was pretty ambivalent but he's giving it a thumbs up as well.

I go out to the theater every blue moon but this might be it.

Yeap. The trailer was horrid and I had zero interest or intention to watch it. Then one of my trusted friends who I grew up playing He-Mans and watching ALF with came to me with a crazy enthusiastic review. Coolest movie I've seen in a while. Reminded me of a helter skelter Rob zombie version of the Goonies. Just a lot of cool things to look at.

The movie should break even after the run is over, with DVD/streaming etc, should make some profit. Hopefully they will green light a sequel.

Haha. Ah, yeah. The non-American meaning of the word "mad". Pissed means drunk over in England, but I hear the kids have begun to incorporate the Yank version of the term into the lexicon.

That's exactly how I felt after leaving the theater. Mad Max was a co-star in his own movie. Let's face it though. Tom Hardy is no Mel Gibson.

Visually, the movie is stunning and the action sequences were top notch. The story was kinda bland though and the inclusion of the models who were apparently covered in some kind of dirt-repellent added nothing to the story.

Whoa whoa whoa, Tom Hardy is far and away the better actor compared to Mel. The better Max is a different story.

Made 300m worldwide. With a budget of 150m plus marketing not even sure it broke even yet. Hope with DVDs it will so they will make a sequel
