Assuming we draft one of Okafor and Towns which would be your next move?

I tried to leave out pretty unrealistic options: LMA/Gasol (likely to go after contenders) and Butler/Leonard (certainty to be matched) in the poll.

I think we need to fill out our roster with SOLID, but not necessarily MAX players.

Then when Kobe's salary comes off the books we'll have a lot of money to work with and a solid squad to attract FAs. (Durant)

This may be the most realistic path. With our draft picks and Randle/Clarkson, 2015 free agents, fill rotation players 2-8 and in 2016 and 2017 find the #1 lead player (assuming Kobe retires, and if he doesn't, we still need a #1 player).

Yeah, I think LA will definitely look at the high profile max guys, but if they don't get the, they have the cap room for a couple 11-12 mil contracts, or one of those type deals and a couple 5-6 mil players.

Ed Davis, Lin, and DeMarre Carroll is an example of something they could get done

Green may have more appeal to LA than Carroll simply because he can play both wing spots (flexibility going forward).

Lakers may also bite the bullet and dangle the Houston pick with Young to give them 27-28 mil in cap room.

Yeah. Now that we got our #2 pick, can mess around with the 2 picks.

Grab a starting caliber wing player, a veteran big man, and a veteran PG.

Aaron Afflalo is a wing player I'd be interested in acquiring.

So it seems most people would pursue a MAX player first even at the risk of losing a lower-tier player like Carroll or Green.

Personally, I offer the MAX to Middleton and then offer the rest ($7+ million) on one of:

Chandler (hometown discount)
Koufos
Splitter (via Kelly swap)
Davis

If the Bucks match we can divvy up that 15+ million on two perimeter players:

Okafor, Chandler/Koufos/Splitter/Davis, Black
Randle, Kelly
Middleton, Young
Kobe, Jabari
Clarkson, room MLE

OR if Bucks match:

Okafor, Chandler/Koufos/Splitter/Davis, Black
Randle, Kelly
Carroll/Green, Young
Kobe, Jabari
Clarkson, Lin/Joseph/Mills

Dragic fits no matter which big it is. I'd take him from 29 til his mid 30's to form a nice backcourt with Clarkson. Kobe can handle SF and some guard minutes too.

If Towns somehow falls, I'd throw max at LMA or Love and play Randle at the 3 and some backup 4 minutes. Okafor makes it tougher, you'd be debating throwing a lot of money at one of the UFA swingmen some have mentioned or keep pounding on the RFA door until one signs.

Brandon Wright, Javale McGee, Al Fariq Aminu, Those are the type of players we should consider before maxing someone out. IMO the max player we want might stunt the growth of our #2 pick or our #7 pick from last year. If we brought in K-Love he would obviously play the 4. Now that's not a problem if we can move Randle to the 3, Kobe stays at the 2 and Either Okafor or Towns at the five and let's just say for FA argument sake, Brandon Knight at the 1. Now that's a formidable team with no chemistry and a ton of redundancy.

A player like Wright who seemingly fits the Lamar Odom Void at 6'10 and a tweener who could play 3-4-5 would be a very versatile addition to this roster. Wright is only 27 and has yet to reach his potential. He won't cost a lot of money and could be given the chance to come in and prove himself. Solid defender and rebounder who shoots a high percentage from the field.

McGee would be welcomed Big off the bench and Aminu would give us a solid wing defensive 3 who could score the ball off of put backs and hustle plays. He doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective.

I think that's something to consider as well, with Okafor he needs the ball to be dominant, will he get it? Towns, is more of an off the ball type of 4/5 who can pop out and shoot the mid/long range jumper. It's all about chemistry and how the FO makes it all work.

If we pick Okafor, Tobias Harris is my #1 RFA option. Landing Marc or LaMarcus would be pipe, but a dream come true as it'll provide us with a proven starter from whom Okafor can learn from. This outta also make us more attractive to the big fishes once Kobe's contract is withdrawn/cap friendly. Regardless, we should also look to fill a spot for another tweener guard who'll come in at a reasonable price. Ellis or Middleton would be nice, but I'm intrigued by Wes Matthews especially if he can prove that he's not limited by his injury.

I don't think that's reasonable 4 months after an Achilles injury. Otherwise, if we strike out a MAX swingman, splitting that money between Green and Matthews would not be the end of the world.

Offer Demarre Carroll $40/4 years. When Kobe's gone, we will have enough for a max + something close to that.

Hope Jimmy Butler signs a 1 year deal and then we can mega max him.

Otherwise, repeat course from last year and go after Durant.

It's not like we'll compete next year. Long term goals. Sign decently priced role payers this year, not scrubs like last year.

Wasn't a great fit with Portland and was hobbled a bit, should hopefully lower his price enough to take a swing at.

Harris/Middleton
Throw max at Kawahi and Jimmy Buckets
Offer any combo of 27/34/futures/cash/Hill/Young for Winslow

In order of likelihood, but in descending order of my preference. Winslow would be a nice young add along with the #2. He, Randle, Clarkson, and Towns/Okafor would be a team with a bright future for sure!!!
